Referring to R. Kelly's 1996 track, Boosie added:

"Just think you wake up one morning having a bad day and you hear 'I believe I could fly'"

According to BBC, dated February 2023, Kelly was jailed for 30 years in 2022 after he had been found guilty of eight counts of s*x trafficking and one count of racketeering in a New York Court.

"I was too scared to tell anybody"- R. Kelly's daughter claims he s*xually assaulted her as a child

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times dated October 14, 2024, in her documentary R. Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey, the Ignition singer's daughter accused him of s*xually abusing her as a child.

Describing the incident in the documentary, Buku Abi aka Joann Kelly said that she just remembers waking up to the singer touching her. Joann recalled that she was 8 or 9 at the time the assault took place and that she just lay there, pretending to be asleep.

Talking about the same, Joann mentioned:

“For a long time I did not even want to believe that it happened. I was too scared to tell anybody. I was too scared to tell my mom. I really feel like that one millisecond completely just changed my whole life and changed who I was as a person. Changed the sparkle I had and the light that I used to carry.”

This is not the first time a documentary on the singer and allegations against him have been released. In 2019, a documentary called Surviving R. Kelly was released, comprising six episodes describing allegations against the Legs Shakin' singer.

Within two weeks of the documentary's release, R. Kelly was dropped by his record company RCA Records and the singer's concerts in New Zealand and the U.S.A. were also cancelled.

According to a report by PEOPLE dated October 11, 2024, the Down Low singer's attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, addressed Joann's allegations against the singer. Bonjean said that Kelly had denied the allegations.

The singer's attorney said that Kelly's ex-wife made the same allegation years ago and her claims were unfounded on investigation by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services.
