On July 25, 2024, American rapper Ice Spice made an appearance at Capital XTRA Breakfast hosted by Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie. The rapper talked about her much-anticipated debut album Y2K and her collaboration with Central Cee on the track Did It First.

In the interview, Ice Spice talked about her collaboration with Pink Pantheress and Central Cee, stating that she loves the UK and people from there along with their accents and energy.

Additionally, on being asked what was the difference between working with Central Cee and Pink Pantheress, the Barbie World rapper commented:

"Cent is definitely like super comfortable just recording in studio in front of like whoever. So, I’ve actually seen him record, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Pink Pantheress record.”

"Mood after takin ha manzzz"- Ice Spice captions TikTok video speculated to be a response to Central Cee's ex-girlfriend

On July 12, 2024, Central Cee's ex-girlfriend Madeline Argy took to TikTok, releasing a five-part series alleging that Central Cee used their relationship for marketing and cheated on her with Ice Spice.

Argy claimed that Cee's collaboration with the Deli rapper called Did It First comprises lyrics of the two, explaining how they cheated on their respective partners, indicating that is actually how it panned out.

The lyrics of Central Cee and the Princess Diana rapper state:

“I’m selective with who I get with / Gyal on my phone tryna see who I slept with / She investigating, detective / Lucky for me, I deleted the message"

Moreover, the rapper did not respond to Madeline Argy's accusations directly and instead posted a video of herself doing pushups on TikTok on July 22, 2024. She captioned the video:

“mood after takin ha manzzz.”

Internet users speculate that the caption was an answer to Madeline Argy's constant jibes about how Central Cee cheated on her with the In Ha Mood rapper. Reports from AllHipHop state that Madeline Argy commented on Ice Spice's video asking "why", which is now deleted.

Additionally, there is an internet debate between fans of the No Clarity rapper and Madeline Argy's fans surrounding who posted a push-up video first as there are claims of Argy posting a now-deleted video of herself doing push-ups before Ice Spice.

Argy's fans believe the rapper posted her video only to mock Central Cee's ex-girlfriend while the rapper's fans claim she posted it first.

Central Cee and Ice Spice have been generating dating rumors since the release of their track together. In her interview at Capital XTRA Breakfast, the rapper addressed her performance with Central Cee at London’s Wireless Festival on July 12, 2024.

She told the hosts that the event was fun and also a mess as they were running late, quoting "London traffic is almost as bad as New York traffic." The rapper mentioned that while their set had to be cut short, it was better than her performance at Wireless last year.

In other news, apart from Central Cee, the Gimme A Light rapper has also collaborated with Travis Scott and Gunna on her debut album Y2K. The album features 10 tracks and its title is a nod to the rapper's birthday on January 1, 2000, which is the date of the Y2K computer scare as well.

Additionally, Ice Spice shared that the album's title also reflects the nostalgic early 2000s-inspired sounds that have motivated her to curate the project.
