Aside from the upcoming tour, the group will release their ninth mini album, titled Band Aid, on September 2, 2024. The album is currently set to both their second mini album after their hiatus and their second mini album of 2024.
Day6 went on hiatus to allow the group members to complete their mandatory military service in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces (ROKAF). The hiatus was over early this year, with the group releasing their first mini album, titled Fourever, on March 18, 2024. The mini album peaked at number 3 on the Korean album chart.
Day6 talked about their hiatus as well as Fourever in an exclusive interview with NME on March 28, 2024:
"Wonpil: I’ve been waiting for this day since I was in the military, before my release from the service. I’ve been ready, and I’m really happy that this is happening right now."
The group continued, with Young K stating:
"Young K: When we were writing this album, all of the songs were what we just wanted to try at the moment. We just write the message or lyrics that suit the song the most"
Leader Sungjin elaborated on the time of hiatus:
"Sungjin:The last three years was the time of self-reflection. I think since I made my debut, I kind of lived to serve others. I put others before me. But for the last three years, I solely focused on myself."
The singer continued:
"I thought a lot about myself, and I learned a lot about myself, and I grew as a result. I focused on discovering what my desires are and what I want at the moment, and I pursued it – I just did it."
Day6's last full-length studio album, The Book of Us: Entropy, was released on : October 22, 2019. The album was a commercial success after its release and charted at number 4 on the Korean album chart.
