Harry Styles had one of the greatest wardrobe malfunctions when his brown leather shorts ripped from the middle during his 2023 Love On Tour concert. The singer was rocking the stage at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California in the presence of juggernauts like Jennifer Aniston, Trevor Noah, Ellen DeGeneres, Kylie Jenner, Julie Bowen, and others when the trouser rip took place.
While performing a rendition of his chartbuster song Music For A Sushi Restaurant, the singer bent down during the chorus and slid on his knees. To his horror, the seam of his trousers couldn’t take the load and ripped. Although horrified at first, Harry Styles quickly managed to recover from the situation and performed the rest of the song with a pride flag wrapped around his waist.
After the song, the 30-year-old quickly left the stage and returned with a much-needed change of trousers. The Watermelon Sugar singer later even joked about it in front of a full-house Kia Forum.
“My trousers ripped. I feel I must apologize to a certain few of you right down in the front there. I mean this is a family show,” quipped Harry and was followed by a chorus of giggles from the crowd.
Thereafter, he pointed to a gentleman in the front row and apologized for not keeping the environment family-friendly enough by accident!
“You sir, are you ok? I promise it’s not part of the show,” joked Harry Styles.
Fans quickly stormed social media platforms to provide their take on the Harry Styles wardrobe malfunction. What got even more attention than the trouser tear was the fact that Jennifer Aniston was sitting just meters away from where the incident took place. Harry Styles has always been open about his crush on the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. actress since his teenage days.
In fact, during his 2020 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the hostess asked Harry Styles personal questions in a game called Burning Questions. The singer famously named Jennifer Aniston when asked about his crush. In fact, Jen has also adored Harry Styles over the years and they have been known to wear matching outfits on many occasions.
“Just call me Harriet Styles,” Jen once famously wrote on her Instagram.
In fact, Modern Family star Julie Bowen was also present in the concert and was seen holding a cheeky banner that said:
"Harry I'm old but I know what I'm doing."
Harry Styles raised eyebrows after being given the title of 'King of Pop'
Harry Styles has recently become the subject of controversy after Rolling Stone UK named him the King of Pop on their cover. Michael Jackson was awarded this title by Elizabeth Taylor in 1989 when she presented him with the Heritage Award for Career Achievement at the Soul Train Music Awards in 1989. The title has been left untouched ever since.
In a post on X, Taj slammed Rolling Stone and commented that the magazine doesn't own the title. He further claimed that King Of Pop has been retired after the death of Jackson and will always belong to him.
However, Taj Jackson didn't disrespect Harry Styles and acknowledged his unique skill set and talent as a performer. He implored Rolling Stone to present him with his unique title.
"There is no new King of Pop. You don’t own the title , and you didn’t earn it, my uncle did. Decades of dedication and sacrifice. The title has been retired. No disrespect to , he’s mega talented. Give him his own unique title," commented Taj Jackson.
Michael's son Prince Jackson appeared on a recent episode of Good Morning Britain and commented on Michael Jackson and him being felicitated with the title of King of Pop.
“I do feel that my father is the King of Pop, will always be the King of Pop, and it´s not something that you can ever take away,” opined the 27-year-old.
He further commented on the fact that King Of Pop isn't just based on the quality of his work but also on the fact that Michael Jackson was able to achieve an exponential amount of fame across the globe in an era where the internet wasn't a thing.
“Harry Styles is an incredible artist. But the King of Pop was a moniker that really my dad earned in a time that the access to information and the access to popularity and fame wasn´t as easily accessible as it is today,” explained Prince.
Nowadays, fame is no longer 'untouchable' with celebrities using social media to regularly connect with fans. Today's singers have the whole world as their audience with the advent of platforms like Instagram and X.
However, breaking the geographical barriers and achieving fame as unparalleled as Michael Jackson wasn't a regular occurrence back in his time.
