Lil Yatchy has confirmed that Karrahbooo has left Concrete Boys, the collective he founded back in 2022. The rapper spoke about the departure of Karrahboo in a recent Instagram Live post no longer available, stating that he was clarifying it for one time and that he wished Karrahbooo well in her future career:
"How do I wanna say this. I'mma say this sh*t one time. We have split ways with Karrah as far as this Concrete sh*t.. I have nothing to say—nothing bad to say, nothing negative to say about Karrah. I wish her the best in her career. That's that. ... I don't have anything really bad to say or anything good to say. We just split, you know?"
The rapper's clarification came after fans noticed that the latter had been removed as a member of the collective on its Instagram page and that the latter stopped following Yatchy and the rest of the collective members on X. Lil Yachty and the rest of the Concrete Boys collective recently performed without Karrahbooo at the Brocolli City Festival on July 28, 2024.
Karrahbooo worked with Lil Yachty and Concrete Boys on their debut mixtape
Karrahboo worked with Lil Yachty and Concrete Boys on the collective's debut mixtape, It's Us Vol. 1, released on April 5, 2024. The mixtape has mostly received positive attention from critics, particularly for Karrahbooo's performance.
Lil Yachty elaborated on the mixtape in an exclusive interview with Uproxx published on April 4, 2024, stating in response to a question on the process that led to the creation of the mixtape
"These are my friends. So it wasn’t like I was looking high and low for talent. These were friends that I’ve made along the way. The most important thing to me is my friendships — and trying to bring everyone up to a level of success so they can provide for their families is the goal. Plus, I’ve always just loved the idea of groups and crews."
No further details has been released as to why the rapper and Concrete Boys parted ways, particularly after the release of their collaborative mixtape just a few months back.
It's Us Vol. 1 was the first record released by Yachty founded new label Concrete Rekordz. It is unclear if Karrahbooo also left the label or not. The label distributes under Quality Control.
In a press statement on the new label released on March 28, 2024, Kevin “Coach K” Lee, the COO and co-founder of Quality Control Music stated:
"Yachty has always had profound vision since the day we met and to see him take his curatorial magic and expand it to discover and enhance other artists is exciting to me."
In another statement released on the same day, Karrahbooo was praised by Quality Control Music CEO and co-founder Pierre “P” Thomas, who stated:
"I’m excited to see Yachty step into the role of executive alongside being one of the most formidable creatives in the world with such an eye for talent. Karrahbooo is a star and they are all going to be the new wave of cool that can bring something different to the culture that is so badly needed.”
In other news, Lil Yachty and Ian released a new single titled Hate Me. The single was released by Quality Control Music with distribution by UMG and Motown Records respectively.
