Snoop has been an ardent Los Angeles Lakers fan and has voiced his favoritism for the team. The Young, Wild, and Free singer has expressed admiration for his favorite players, including Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and many others. In a conversation with Kristen Ledlow and Candace Parker on their podcast, Ledlow & Parker in 2022, Snoop shared one of his favorite moments from the Lakers' games.
In what is regarded as one of the most dramatic games in the Lakers' history, Snoop talked about the Western Conference Finals match between the LA Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers in 2000. Snoop Dogg was seated courtside when and witnessed Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant change the fate of the game in the latter half. The Lakers won 89-84 and Snoop couldn't hold his excitement and rushed into the locker room. He added,
"We just went in there and like partying with the Lakers. It was crazy."
In 2020, the California-born rapper showcased his forearm tattoo that honored his favorite team and late Kobe Bryant. Snoop Dogg revealed the fresh ink on his Instagram which featured Kobe's initials, the Larry O'Brien Championship trophy, the Lakers team logo, and the gates of Heaven. “Laker to a Clipper? Man, I can’t be faded."
