A screenshot of a purported Truth Social post by Donald Trump, claiming he listens to Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us, recently gained traction, shared by an X account @DailyNoud.
As per the screenshot, the president-elect allegedly posted:
"Starting my day by listening to Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar. I love this song! A true AMERICAN song, I have listened to this song repeatedly. I heard my team sing it after I won and thought Wow that's a great song. Funny that the Canadians think they are better are better than us. They are not! Canada is crumbling upon itself -- and it's because of this song."
Despite DailyNoud's post receiving 65K likes, no credible news outlets have reported the comment, raising doubts about the screenshot of Trump's Truth Social post's authenticity. Additionally, the page DailyNoud is a parody account of the authentic news page Daily Loud, which further questions the legitimacy of the post.
The DailyNoud's X bio reads:
"#1 Source For PARODY Hip-Hop News | Follow For Viral Content | These are fake stories | Not affiliated with @DailyLoud 🙅♂️🙅♀️"
Moreover, the news page @FlakkoPoetik posted a video of the president-elect's Truth Social timeline on X, stating he made no such post. They mentioned:
"I checked Truth Social.. it’s cap.. Trump did not shout out Kendrick Lamar and Not Like Us 😂 a fake page started this rumor. Every page who reposted it is so trash"
Therefore, there is no verified source stating that Donald Trump commented on listening to Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us on Truth Social. On the other hand, the track Not Like Us has been used by Kamala Harris during her election campaign rally in Atlanta. It was also used as a reference by Harris at the 2024 BET Awards.
Note: We at Sportskeeda have also verified that the post mentioned by Daily Noud was never posted by the president-elect on his Truth Social account.
"THOSE RUMORS OR STATEMENTS ARE FALSE"— Trump debunks rumors about selling his Truth Social shares
As reported by Hindustan Times on November 8, following Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election, speculations circulated that he would be selling his Truth Social shares. The Republican leader founded Truth Social in 2022 after being banned from mainstream social media platforms like X.
Truth Social is owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) and has been the social media platform on which the president-elect remained most active after X.
The publication noted that while the president-elect was quiet on social media platforms for a period of 72 hours after being elected, he returned to Truth Social to address rumors of selling his shares in the platform. He labeled the claims "fake, untrue, and probably illegal rumors and/or statements," alleging that they were being spread by market manipulators or short sellers.
In his statement, Trump clarified:
"THOSE RUMORS OR STATEMENTS ARE FALSE. I HAVE NO INTENTION OF SELLING!”
He added:
“Truth is an important part of our historic win, and I deeply believe in it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
As reported by Reuters on November 9, 2024, after the president-elect posted his statement about not selling his Truth Social shares, the company's stock closed 15.2% higher on November 8, 2024, at $31.91 and also hit a session high of $33.03.
The shares of Truth Social witnessed a slump on November 7, 2024, as hypothetical bets on the president-elect winning a second term went cold after the president-elect emerged victorious in the elections over Kamala Harris.
