Mere days after DJ Mustard announced his new album, Faith Of A Mustard Seed, with a trailer, the hitmaker has revealed the official release date for the album. Mustard's new LP will be delivered to all major DSPs (Digital Streaming Platforms) via 10 Summers Records and Interscope Records on June 26, 2024.
The West Coast producer uploaded the cover for FOAMS to all his social media handles, which finds Mustard spinning a record as a child, with the following caption:
"FAITH OF A MUSTARD SEED. 7.26.24"
The producer's fourth studio album is dropping almost five years after the successful LP Perfect Ten, which was released on June 28, 2019. His third project also credited him with his first career Grammy nomination as a lead artist for the "Best Rap/Sung Performance - Ballin (Feat. Roddy Ricch)" at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
Since then, DJ Mustard's popularity has skyrocketed, leading him to work with major label artists like Coi Leray, Kendrick Lamar, Future, Travis Scott, and more.
DJ Mustard releases a trailer for his upcoming album 'Faith Of A Mustard Seed'
Reports of a new DJ Mustard album began flooding the internet after the producer uploaded the official trailer for Faith Of A Mustard Seed on his X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption:
"SUMMER 2024. A GIFT FROM ME TO YOU. LOVE Y’ALL. SEE YOU SOON."
The 1:28-minute trailer helps give viewers an insight into thematic elements that will sit at the core of DJ Mustard's new album. The trailer is narrated by a man preaching about motivation, self-acceptance, and success, while several clips of the producer's experiences through life flash across the screen.
The preacher introduces the concept of "Faith," whereby he metaphorically explains that insecurity is a by-product of one having less faith. He opens the trailer by stating:
"Jesus said if you had Faith the size of a mustard seed which you can hardly see, it's that small, you could say to the mountain be removed... it's saying that in your life you're going to come up against things that appear to be immovable to you."
He goes on to explain how allowing obstacles in your life to derail you from your true objective is "unworthy" behavior that can only be removed when one has faith in oneself. The trailer ends with the preacher explaining:
"You're going to come up against obstacles in life that are so firmly rooted like the sycamore tree that if you don't have faith, you walk away, and change your course because you don't think you can do it. But Christ is saying to you stop that kind of cheap talk. It's unworthy of you to think that there is any obstacle in your life that you can't move"
The trailer also features clips of DJ Mustard working in the studio, presumably on Faith Of A Mustard Seed, alongside rappers like Nipsey Hustle, Travis Scott, and Future. During one of the clips, at 0:43 seconds, we see the producer writing the potential feature list for the album on a whiteboard, which includes several notable rapper's names on it, like:
- Travis Scott
- DaBaby
- Lil Baby
- Roddy Ricch
- Megan Thee Stallion
- NBA YoungBoy
- Kid Cudi
- Future
- The Weeknd
- J. Cole (50/50)
Since the trailer dropped, there have been heavy speculations as to who might actually appear as features on this album. News media outlets like the NFR podcast reposted the album announcement with a "Potential feature list," which also includes artists like Jay-Z.
Faith Of A Mustard Seed arrives only a few weeks after DJ Mustard received his first career No. 1 hit for his West Coast banger, Not Like Us, which Kendrick Lamar dropped as his fifth and final diss track aimed at Drake during their iconic 2024 beef.
With less than three weeks left until DJ Mustard's fourth studio album hits streaming platforms, the anticipation and hype around his new LP has been consistently growing, with fans sharing their excitement over the latest project across social media.
