Katy Perry has been one of the trailblazers of fashion in the industry with her penchant for different hairstyles and body art. She has a total of 11 known tattoos on her body so far. While many are dedicated to significant career milestones like her 2015 Super Bowl halftime performance, others describe important moments in her personal life.
One such piece of body art is a Sanskrit tattoo on the inside of her right bicep. The phrase reads "अनुगच्छतु प्रवाहं" (Anugacchatu Pravaaham), which translates to "going along with the flow." Reportedly, Katy and her ex-husband Russell Brand got it together (via Hindustan Times).
Katy Perry and Russell Brand tied the knot in an elegant Indian wedding in 2010 and reportedly got matching tattoos around the same time. Perry and Brand have expressed their love for South Asian culture time and again in the past. Therefore, it is not a surprise that they got a body art to pay homage to the Indian culture.

"The planet in the middle is Saturn as this journey has taught me many lessons with a few tears along the way BUT I am happy to report a sense of real resilience as we wrap. I share this insignia with 45 other tour mates and moreover an incredible year of memories with over 100 beautiful & kind humans and a numerous amount of gracious attendees."
2) Rainbow-themed prism ankle tattoo
Katy Perry's left ankle has a rainbow-colored prism with googly eyes and a lopsided grin. The tattoo is diagonally painted with rainbow ink and was done by Bang Bang in 2015.

3) "Miss You" tattoo with fans
Katy Perry got a fine-line tattoo in May 2019 while promoting her single Never Really Over at the YouTube Music Space. She got the body art to show her love to her fans, also known as KatyCats.

4) XLIX finger tattoo
Katy Perry got the XLIX finger tattoo in 2015 to celebrate one of the biggest milestones of her career - headlining the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show in 2015.
The songstress set the stage on fire during her twelve-and-a-half-minute performance, featuring an animatronic lion, dancing sharks, 3D chessboard illusions, and several other props. She was also joined by Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott.
After the performance, she got "XLIX" inked by her longtime tattoo artist Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy.
5) Peppermint-Candy Ankle Tattoo
Katy Perry got a red-and-white peppermint candy tattoo on the inside of her right ankle to mark the end of her California Dreams Tour in 2011-12. The candy theme and the colors used in the tattoo popped up in several shows, making it a piece of memorabilia after the completion of the tour.
6) Strawberry ankle tattoo
To keep the end-of-tour tattoo tradition alive, Katy Perry got a tattoo of a smiling strawberry on her left ankle in 2009 following the conclusion of her Hello Katy Tour for the album One Of The Boys.
Done by Bang Bang, the smiling strawberry has googly eyes and green hair (stalk).
7) Hello Kitty finger tattoo
The popular cartoon character Hello Kitty has also made its way on the right middle finger of the singer. The tattoo also bears the trademark pink bow and tiny whiskers on either side of the cat's cheeks.
Katy Perry got the tattoo during the 40th-anniversary celebration of Hello Kitty's inception in 2014. She also exhibited her new tattoo on Instagram with the caption:
"Does this make my gang signs look soft now?"
8) Lotus wrist tattoo
Katy Perry also has a minimalistic outline of a lotus on her right wrist. Although the singer hasn't explicitly revealed the significance of the lotus, the flower typically symbolizes a fresh start and inner maturity.

At 18, Katy Perry got a tattoo of the word "Jesus" on her left wrist - the first-ever tattoo of the songstress. The singer was raised in a religious household and her parents were Pentecostal pastors. Katy Perry's first album was a gospel record called Katy Hudson which was released in 2001.
"I do believe in something much bigger than me, and I call that God for me," said Katy in a 2018 interview with Insider, adding that it was her faith in spirituality that guided her through adverse periods in life.
10) Cherry blossom ankle tattoo
While Katy Perry has a googly-eyed strawberry on her left ankle, she boasts a red-and-green cherry blossom on her right.
Reportedly, Perry got the tattoo with her then-boyfriend John Mayer, who got it on his right wrist. We can assume that she got the tattoo between 2012 and 2014 - the period in which they were together. In the traditional Japanese culture, a flower (aka sakura) is considered a symbol of love, optimism, and the transient nature of life.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry is set to embark on Australian tour in 2025.
