The rap legend Snoop Dogg added another accolade to his name after he received the honorary star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 19, 2018. The California-born rapper's long-awaited Walk of Fame star was awarded for his contributions and works in the 'Recording' segment

Snoop Dogg's star was embedded at the 6840 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. He is the 2651st artist to have his name etched in the stone, along with major rappers like Queen Latifah, Diddy, Pharell, LL Cool J, Pitbull, and Ice Cube.

Snoop Dogg's fans are no strangers to his contributions to transforming the hip-hop industry. His music not only introduced a new fashion statement for modern hip-hop but also paved the way for artists to be bold and experiment with their music. Snoop also reintroduced West Coast rap to the world with his chart-topping gangsta rap hits.


Snoop Dogg is one of the 16 rappers with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Snoop Dogg is one of the 16 rappers whose names are etched on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. While Snoop is the seventh rapper to receive the Hollywood Walk of Fame star, his friend Dr. Dre is the 16th rapper on the list.

The honorary accolade originated in 1950 and has been received by over 2,783 artists to date. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honors select artists with the honorary star in the categories - sports, entertainment, television, recording, motion pictures, live performance, and radio.

The rappers other than Snoop Dogg with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame are:

Queen Latifah - January 4, 2006.

Queen Latifah is the first rapper and also the first female rapper in Hollywood Walk of Fame history to receive a star. The rapper and actress received the honor in the Motion Pictures category. Her star can be found at 6915 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Diddy - May 2, 2008

Sean 'Diddy' Combs is the first male rapper to be honored by a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Diddy's 2,362nd star awarded to him for his contributions in the Recording category is embedded at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard.

Pharrell - December 4, 2014

Pharrell Williams is a producer, singer, and songwriter who received the 2,537th Hollywood Walk of Fame star in the Recording category. Pharell's name and star were etched at 6270 Hollywood Boulevard.

LL Cool J - January 21, 2016

LL Cool J received the 2,571st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Recording category. The star can be found at 6901 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Ice Cube - June 12, 2017

Ice Cube was awarded the 2,614th Hollywood Walk of Fame star in the Recording category. His star is embedded at the 6752 Hollywood Boulevard.


Rappers who received Hollywood Walk of Fame star after Snoop Dogg

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce awarded nine stars to major rappers after Snoop Dogg. The honorary stars were awarded to Nipsey Hussle and Tupac Shakur posthumously.

50 Cent - January 30, 2020

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson was honored with the 2,686th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the Recording category. The In da Club singer has his star embedded at 6250 Hollywood Boulevard.

Missy Elliott - November 8, 2021,

Missy Elliott's name was added to the Hollywood Wall of Fame in the category of Recording. The 2,708th star rests at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.

DJ Khaled - April 11, 2022

DJ Khaled received the 2,719th Hollywood Walk of Fame star for the Recording category. His star is located at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.

Nipsey Hussle - August 15, 2022

The late Nipsey Hussle was awarded the 2,729th Hollywood Walk of Fame star posthumously in the Recording category. The Double Up singer's star is embedded at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.

Tupac Shakur - June 7, 2023

The late Tupac Shakur is one of the few artists to receive a posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame star. The California Love singer was honored with the 2,758th star in the Recording category, and his star rests at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.

Dr. Dre - March 19, 2024.

Dr. Dre's name was etched into the Hollywood Walk of Fame with the 2,775th star for the Recording category. His star rests next to Snoop Dogg's star at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.


As of this writing, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has not made any new announcements about other rappers being added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year.
