Eminem dropped his latest single, Fuel—Shady Edition, on September 13, 2024, as part of the Expanded Mourner's Edition of his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace). The song, featuring Westside Boogie and GRIP, is a sequel to Fuel's original version featuring JID, unveiled earlier this year as part of Eminem’s 12th studio album.
On Fuel – Shady Edition, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, takes shots at Sean “Diddy” Combs, including doubling down on his past accusations, that Diddy was involved in the murders of rappers Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.
“Notorious B.I.G.’s death was the domino effects of Tupac’s murder/ Like facial tissue, whose card should I clean next? Puff’s?/ ‘Til he’s in police handcuffs, guilty, will he step up?/ Like gee [G. Dep] never turned himself in, who knows all the murders there’ll have been/ Or me mixed up, prepare for me to not choose none of my words carefully,” Eminem raps.
The latest track by Slim Shady comes in the wake of Diddy’s federal arrest on September 16 following a grand jury indictment. Sean Combs is currently being held on three felony charges, including racketeering conspiracy, s*x trafficking by force or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Amid the now-explosive lyrics dissing Diddy, the internet is having diverse reactions. For instance, X user @secretmovement1 called out fellow user @Cernovich.
The latter, in his post, mocked Slim Shady by asking, “How much baby oil did Diddy use on you, @Eminem?” In response, the former pointed out how the Detroit rapper was one of the first artists to have ever publicly accused Diddy of his wrongdoings through his songs.
“Funny but Eminem has been calling out Puffy for a while. Neither Eminem or 50 Cent is cool with Puffy. Eminem was the first high-profile celebrity to accuse Puffy of Tupac’s death in a song,” @secretmovement1 wrote in the comments.
Several others joined the conversation and shared similar reactions, claiming that Eminem and 50 Cent have been slamming Diddy for years.
“Y'all just be saying things. Eminem has made it known for years that he doesn't like Diddy. He literally dissed him repeatedly on his most recent album. Him and 50 Cent are pretty much the ONLY celebrities to speak against Diddy this whole time. Write a new joke,” a person wrote.
“If you knew anything, you'd know that Eminem & 50 Cent both were the only 2 people in hip hop to ever push back and talk sh*t about Diddy. Don't speak on sh*t you don't know about,” one person wrote.
Others commented directly on Em’s continued shade at Diddy in his new song Fuel – Shady Edition.
“This the 4th time Em has said something about this. I swear he knows something we don’t,” a netizen wrote.
“2 Diddy callouts on both versions of the same song,” wrote another.
“Incredible verse somehow topped the original version,” one netizen wrote.
Here are some more reactions in this regard:
“He's been accusing Diddy for years now everyone catches on because Diddy is in the news,” one individual wrote.
“Eminem releasing a song saying this about Diddy the same week he gets arrested is crazy,” an individual wrote.
“Have you been listening to Eminem’s new music? Bro definitely fueled up Diddy’s arrest,” wrote another.
So far, neither Sean Combs nor his representatives have addressed the accusations made by Marshall Bruce Mathers III in his latest song.
Eminem previously called out Diddy for Tupac and Biggie’s murders
Apart from the newest track Fuel – Shady Edition, Eminem also took shots at Diddy regarding Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.’s murders in the original version of the song Fuel. It was released in July 2024 as the ninth track of his recent studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace). Featuring JID, the song had the lyrics:
“Wait, he didn't just spell the word ‘rapper’ and leave out a P, did he? (Yep)/ R.I.P., rest in peace, Biggie And Pac, both of y'all should be living (Yep)/ But I ain't tryna beef with him (Nope)/ 'Cause he might put a hit on me like, ‘Keefe D, get him’/ And that's the only way you're gonna be killing me (Nah).”
Earlier, in 2018, Eminem hinted at Diddy’s involvement in 2Pac’s murder in his album’s titular song Killshot. On it, he dissed Machine Gun Kelly who was then signed to Combs’ Bad Boy Records label.
“Kells, the day you put out a hit’s the day Diddy admits / That he put the hit out that got Pac killed,” M&M rapped.
Notably, Em also shaded Diddy in two songs from his latest album, Antichrist and Bad One (featuring White Gold). In the former, Slim Shady referred to the bombshell video of Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie by rapping:
"Next idiot ask me is getting his a*s bėat worse than Diddy did-/ But on the real, though (what?) She probably ran out the room with his f*ckin' d*ldo (come here)/ He try to field goal punt her, she said to chill (no)/ Now put it back in my a*s and get the steel toe."
As for Bad One, M&M hinted that Diddy tried to blow up rapper Kid Cudi’s car:
“Got ’em up in arms like monkey bars, the f*cking bomb/ Word to Puffy, I’m blowing up like Kid Cudi’s car/ In front of his house where all his buddies are.”
For those unaware, Cassie mentioned the alleged Kid Cudi incident in her November 2023 s*xual assault, abuse, and trafficking lawsuit against Diddy. She claimed that it happened during a “rough patch” during her years-long relationship with Combs when she shared a “brief relationship” with Cudi.
Recently, federal prosecutors also referenced a similar incident as part of Diddy’s ongoing arraignment. Currently, he is being held in federal custody and has been denied bail twice. However, last Tuesday, he pled “not guilty” in front of a judge at the Manhattan Federal Court.
