Eminem starts off the album with a track titled Renaissance, where he can be seen calling out several major rappers in the hip-hop industry, many of which are his friends and have collaborated with Marshall in the past. Here's every rapper Em took shots at on this song:

  • Kendrick Lamar
  • Joyner Lucas
  • Lil Wayne
  • Kanye West
  • J. Cole

He delivers these bars from a highly opinionated critic's perspective citing examples of them claiming Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers didn't have any "bangers" on it. Em appears to playfully make fun of his peer's work before taking shots at himself on the bar:

"Kendrick's album was cool, but it didn't have any bangers / Wayne's album or Ye's, couldn't tell you which one was lamer / Joyner's album was corny, Shady's new s--t is way worse"

2) Caitlyn Jenner

On Habits, Eminem spends a bar to take shots at Caitlyn Jenner by making fun of the American media personality and former Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete's s*xuality, when he says:

"But when it comes to givin' it to anybody, boy, is Bruce generous (Marshall) / And I'm 'bout as much of boy as Bruce Jenner is (D*mn) / 'Cause I'm not a boy, I'm a man, b---h, man-b---h (Ha-ha) / My speech is free as his choice to choose gender is (Man)"

3) Christopher Reeve

Eminem modifies his voice using a distortion effect on his vocals, to resemble a voice box, during the outro of Brand New Dance. The rapper mimics the voice of the late actor, Christopher Reeve, who was paralyzed in 1995 after an accident during an equestrian competition in Culpeper, Virginia.

"Christopher Reeves here / You had better not talk behind my back / Or I will kick your a-- the minute I'm out of this chair / Watch yourself, Marshall / I'm watching you" - Eminem's outro for 'Brand New Dance'.

4) Dr. Dre

On Evil, Eminem appears to be engaging in a verbal feud with rapper and producer, Dr. Dre.

He later disses his friend for seemingly trying to give him advice on what he should and shouldn't say. He builds on themes of societal cancel culture which is one of the core subject matters Em discusses in The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

"And I've had a bad day, I just slapped Dre / Do not tell me what I can't say, that's g-y (What's wrong with that?) / And not the good kind of g-y either (What?) / Where two men f--k each other and hate beaver (Woah)" - Eminem raps on ' Evil'.

5) Candace Owens and Amber Heard

On Lucifer, Eminem takes shots at actor Amber Heard by referencing her "mattress defecation" incident a viral moment from the Depp v. Heard trial in 2022.

He also calls out political activist and commentator, Candace Owens, for criticizing his career and calling him in a tweet made on August 30, 2023. Em proceeds to compare Owens to members of the KKK while making fun of her political affiliations when he raps:

"And Candace O, I ain't mad at her (Ah) / I ain't gon' throw the fact b---h forgot she was Black back at her / Laugh at her like them crackers she's backin' after her back is turned / In a cute MAGA hat with her brand-new White Lives Matter shirt (Haha, nope) ... Call her Grand Wizard (Yeah), Klandace (Haha),"

6) Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion

On Antichrist, while Eminem explains to the listeners why he's regarded as the best MC in hip-hop, Marshall praises OG rappers like Nas, RZA, Biggie Smalls, and GZA, for inspiring him throughout his career.

He then sends a sneak diss toward Megan and Nicki, who were publicly engaged in a viral and vicious beef this year, highlighting that his "flows" are powerful enough to positively impact their feud, when he states:

"But if you wonder why is Marsh considered the harshest spitter (Why?) / 'Cause I can spit a bar like it's a / Cross between Nas and GZA, Biggie Smalls, and RZA / So hard, Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj'll scissor"

7) Lizzo

On Road Rage, Eminem dedicates the first couple of bars on his second verse to taking shots at Lizzo and her appearance, when he states:

"This what it is though, but this is show biz, so things / Ain't never really truly over 'til Lizzo sings (Like I won't say that) / We should coddle fat people (Yeah), yeah, here's a concept (What?), let's celebrate onset (Yeah) / Diabetes and instead of us dieting we can just have a pie eating contest "

8) Hailie Jade Mathers, Alaina Marie Mathers, and Stevie Laine Mathers

On the album's lead single, Houdini, Eminem calls out several people within his close circle from the co-founder of Interscope, Jimmy Iovine, to Dr. Dre.

Em also takes shots at all three of his daughters who look visibly confused at their father's rant during their cameo appearance in Houdini's music video, which was released on May 31, 2024.

"F--k them, f--k Dre, f--k Jimmy, f--k me, f--k you, f--k my own kids they're brats (F--k 'em) / They can screw-off, them and you all" - Eminem raps on 'Houdini'.

On Guilty Conscience 2, Eminem takes shots at several people including people he's previously beefed with like MGK, Benzino, and Ja Rule. Em speaks on previous feuds toward the end of his verse, when he raps:

"Yeah, b---h, this is for him (What?) / Christopher, MGK, Nick, and for Limp Bizkit and them / Midgets and Ben— (Man, please) / 'Zino, in addition to him / Will Smith and to Canibus, if you're listening, this is the end / So to Jamar and Ja Rule and to all / My feuds including ma (What?)"

10) Kid Cudi

On Bad One, Eminem references Kid Cudi's car explosion, from 2012, where his vehicle was blown up in the driveway of his home as part of a threat that Diddy had allegedly issued to him.

Their beef seemingly stems from Diddy believing that his then-girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, was engaging in an intimate relationship with Cudi.

"The people still seem to think they want the old me 'til they get him / Got 'em up in arms like monkey bars / The f--king bomb with the puffy on / I'm blowing up for Kid Cudi's car" - Eminem raps on 'Bad One'.

11) Melle Mel

On the album's second single, Tobey, Eminem reignites his 2023 beef with Grandmaster Melle Mel. During his verse, he recounts people advising him to not respond to the OG rapper because of his various accomplishments and contributions to hip-hop, to which Em responds by stating:

"Get dissed though and by a pioneer / Who was one of the reasons why I am here / They tell me I should just let that s--t go and slide (Why?) / Melle Mel shouldn't get no reply (Why?) / That man is a legend, b---h, so am I (Haha, yeah)"

Although there were several more callouts, with a few celebrities catching stray shots multiple times throughout the album, The Death of Slim Shady primarily revolves around Eminem battling the controversial urges of his alter ego, Slim Shady.
