Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee was sued by a "Jane Doe" who accused the lawyer of giving her a s*xually transmitted infection when the two were dating, according to a report by HotNewHipHop dated December 19, 2024. In the lawsuit, Buzbee is accused of covering Jane Doe since 2018 after an online interaction.
The woman claims that the lawyer met her in Houston for a show and a dinner, followed by engaging in s*xual relations in a hotel room. However, the attorney didn't disclose his alleged venereal disease to the woman. The woman claimed that when she confronted Tony Buzbee about the same, he apologized to her and requested that she keep the matter private.
The lawsuit mentions that Buzbee promised Jane Doe free legal assistance in exchange for her silence. She also accused Tony Buzbee of abusive behavior, stating an incident where he allegedly hit her with a champagne flute in New York.
In an Instagram post dated December 19, 2024, Buzbee claimed that Jane Doe's claims were false and were "being ginned up" by people working for Jay-Z's Roc Nation. The rapper denied his involvement in the lawsuit against Buzbee via a statement on Roc Nation's Instagram account on December 20, 2024.
"We are not the source of every sunlight that you get but ROC sunshine is coming your way Mr. 1800. Shameful,” the statement read.
"This latest one is provably false" — Tony Buzbee alleges Jay-Z's involvement in Jane Doe's venereal disease lawsuit
Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee posted a statement on his Instagram account commenting on Jane Doe's venereal disease lawsuit against him on December 19, 2024. Calling it a "smear campaign," Buzbee said that he was sued by a lawyer affiliated with the lawyers he faces in the Diddy litigation.
He said that the lawsuit was a conspiracy to intimidate and discredit him from pursuing the claims in Diddy's litigation. He added that Jane Doe's lawsuit was "frivolous, laughable and ridiculous" and that it would be dismissed like the other lawsuits. Commenting on the recent lawsuit, Buzbee said:
"This latest one is provably false with literally no factual basis or merit whatsoever."
The Texas-based attorney alleged that before Jane Doe's lawsuit was filed, her lawyer demanded $20 million from Buzbee, claiming that the lawyer's reputation would be trashed if he didn't pay. Taking a stand against the lawsuit, Tony Buzbee said:
"We won’t just sit back and allow this criminality to continue. We have reported this conduct to the relevant legal authorities. And, we will be filing our own cases against those behind this to put a stop to it once and for all."
The image posted alongside Buzbee's lengthy statement on Instagram was a quote by Louis Brandes stating:
"Sunlight is the best disinfectant".
In response to Buzbee's Instagram post referencing "sunlight," Jay-Z addressed the lawyer's allegations of Roc Nation's involvement in Jane Doe's lawsuit, stating that God is behind the sunlight he mentioned.
Jay-Z's statement also mentioned:
“Mr. 1800 said today that Roc Nation is criminally responsible for his legal woes with ex-clients/ex-lover who is accusing him of transmitting venereal diseases, assaulting, falsifying documents, and stealing client monies. No and no,”
In a report by HotNewHipHop dated December 10, 2024, Jay-Z's attorney, Alex Spiro, submitted a letter to Judge Analisa Torres claiming that Tony Buzbee pressured a woman to make false allegations in a lawsuit against his client.
Spiro said that the woman went to Buzbee's law firm seeking help with allegations of abuse and trafficking unrelated to Jay-Z or Diddy. However, Buzbee reportedly pressured the woman into roping in Diddy in her claims.
