A viral tweet circulating on X has led many to believe that Billie Eilish has canceled her upcoming tour. Eilish is scheduled to embark on her Hit Me Hard And Soft tour from Québec, Canada, on Sunday, September 29. However, some confusion arose from a tweet posted by an X user going by the handle emy or @emysbill.

On Sunday, September 8, the user claimed that Billie Eilish had canceled the highly anticipated tour. The user posted what looked like a screenshot of the Ocean Eyes hitmaker's Instagram story. The alleged screenshot featured a grainy background with a message supposedly from Eilish that read:

"Tour is cancelled. I need some time to relax and eat pu**y. I'll go on tour when I feel like it ....."

The tweet went viral, amassing over 8.6 million views on the platform. However, the information provided in the tweet was false, as Billie Eilish has not shared such an Instagram story or any information regarding a potential cancellation of the Hit Me Hard And Soft tour.

On the other hand, the tweet seemed to be satirical, as the alleged Instagram story screenshot is a modified version of Azealia Banks' infamous Instagram story from 2018. @emysbill later clarified that the post was meant to be a joke by tweeting out the original Azealia Banks Instagram story. Additionally, @emysbill identifies as a "parody account" on X.

Billie Eilish did not cancel her 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' tour

As mentioned earlier, @emysbill's viral tweet on Sunday led many to think that Billie Eilish canned her upcoming Hit Me Hard And Soft tour. The confusion frustrated some users, including @MarlaMtz4, who expressed their frustration for the alleged hate Billie Eilish was getting via a reply that read:

"Delete this post, it isn’t even real/true and people are hating on her. All for being dense not knowing it’s a joke."

In response, @emysbill stated:

"it's not my fault if people can't tell it's a joke."

To provide context, the X user also posted a screenshot of the original Instagram story, which was modified to make the viral tweet. The original version of the screenshot is from Azealia Banks' mid-July 2018 Instagram story. In her story, Banks announced the cancellation of her album Fantasea II: The Second Wave and gave fans a hilarious reason why. She wrote:

"Album is cancelled. I need some time to relax and bounce on d**k. I'll release new music when I feel like it ….."

Fantasea II: The Second Wave served as the sequel to Banks' 2012 mixtape Fantasea. However, the album has not been released as of yet. After first being announced on a February 21, 2018 Facebook live post, only a few singles and promotional singles from the album were released. The singer's first and last studio album came in the form of 2014's Broke with Expensive Taste.

Meanwhile, after the successful release of her third studio album Hit Me Hard And Soft on May 17, 2024, Billie Eilish is all set to go on a promotional tour of the album titled HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR. The tour will commence with a September 29 gig in Quebec’s Centre Videotron and conclude with a July 27, 2025, show in Dublin, Ireland's Arena 3.
