Drake has been subjected to lots of hate and trolling after his beef with Kendrick Lamar. The latest one was a video that went viral on the internet in which the Canadian rapper could be seen shouting at people in the audience. It was claimed that he was yelling at the fans who were singing Not Like Us at his concert.
The timeline of the clip, however, isn't true. The video is actually from 2023, long before the beef even started. Hence, it is worth noting that the rumor is fake.
Several netizens reacted, claiming that Drake was furious and seemingly "about to cry" when fans at the concert were chanting Lamar's diss track. Some later came in support of the rapper, stating that the footage and the text on it were fake, according to the timeline.
The video of Drake that went viral was from 2023 when he tossed a towel to a girl in the crowd
For the uninitiated, the incident in the above Instagram post happened back in 2023, during Drake's concert in Los Angeles. He had just thrown a towel at a female fan as a gift, who was then wrestled and choked by another man for the item. The Canadian rapper soon intervened and yelled at the male concertgoer, saying:
"Are you dumb? I’mma send someone up there."
Hence, coming back to the current allegations that he was yelling at a fan for singing Kendrick Lamar's diss track is not true.
Kendrick's Not Like Us has been a massive success. It was played quite a few times in his latest The Pop Out concert, which was held on June 19. Several artists had performed at the three-hour-long concert, along with Kendrick Lamar.
Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, told TMZ in a recent interview that, according to him, Not Like Us could be eligible to receive Grammy nominations. The track has been one piece of music, with which fans have related a lot. It also reportedly discussed several social issues.
Meanwhile, Lamar was further present in Compton recently to shoot the music video for this very popular diss track, Not Like Us. NBC News Los Angeles reported that a huge number of fans were present around the shooting set to witness the making of the MV.
