A video of rapper Kid Rock performing in front of a small audience has gone viral on social media. An X user, @iamgabesanchez, posted the video with a caption that read:
"Kid Rock and his tens of fans at RNC lol."
However, it should be noted that the video was originally shared on X by American commentator Charlie Sykes. In his post, Sykes wrote in the caption:
"Kid Rock gives a taste of what’s to come…"
Sykes' caption indicated that the viral video was a rehearsal video, not footage from the show at the Republican National Convention. Many users pointed out that it was possibly a sound check or a rehearsal. Thus, the video and the caption which went viral, were misleading and not true. Further videos of the rapper performing at the RNC have been circulating, showing a large crowd.
The Post Millennial also uploaded footage of the show, capturing a huge audience. Some of the available online videos of the RNC show included shots of the Trump family. Thus, the rumor that Rock performed in front of a handful of audience at the 2024 RNC is not true.
Several musicians including Jason Aldean and Kid Rock performed at the 2024 RNC
The 2024 Republican National Convention was held from July 15 to July 18, 2024. People from different fields, including musicians, performed at the event. Among the performers were Jason Aldean, Chris Janson, Kid Rock, Lee Greenwood, and several others. Janson performed his popular tracks, including Buy Me A Boat and All American Guy.
Kid Rock's performance on Day 4 of the event became the talk of the town. First, a video of him seemingly rehearsing went viral, which made netizens assume that there were only a handful of audience members. The artist, however, played in front of a large crowd that also included Melania and Donald Trump himself.
Wavy.com reported that, as per the original schedule, the singer wasn't expected to perform on Thursday, the final day of the convention. However, Rock performed tracks like American Bad A** and Devil Without A Cause. On Thursday, he also posted a tweet hinting at his performance that day, saying:
"We just arrived in Milwaukee to support our tried and true, red, white and blue, 100 percent American bada‑‑ president. What’s going to happen tonight? Tune in to find out. God bless Donald Trump and God bless America.”
Kid Rock further altered the lyrics to include the phrase "Fight! Fight! Fight!" The Express Tribune reported that the above phrase was used by former President Donald Trump after an alleged assassination attempt on him during a Pennsylvania rally. Additionally, Rock donated $50,000 to the victims who were impacted by the shooting. He posted a video on X, where he said:
"If you f*** with Trump, you f*** with me."
During his performance, the former president and his wife could be seen cheering for Rock. The artist has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump since his first term in office.
As reported by The Tennessean, Kid Rock has previously addressed the former president as a "great friend" on several occasions. As mentioned, he has also extended support to Trump after the recent attack in Pennsylvania.
