Claims of Lil Baby dying have spread like wildfire on Facebook. This comes after a fake news report about his death was posted by a netizen online. However, it is worth noting that the rumors are not true. The rapper is very much alive and, just a few hours back, posted Instagram stories.

Facebook user Ash Kustomz took to Facebook on Monday, July 15, 2024, and wrote in the caption, “Ain’t no way lil baby gone mane.” The netizen also attached an image of the musician in the post and two other news report screenshots. In one screenshot, netizens could see the News 6 channel banner with the “Breaking news” reading:

“Lil Baby involved in a very bad car accident. Police: Lil Baby Pronounced Dead.”

The other screenshot included an image of a luxury sports car being crushed by the side of a road.

At the time of writing this article, the social media post had amassed over 1000 shares, 260 comments, and 150 reactions.

However, it was confirmed that the rapper was still alive and had also taken to his Instagram account to share stories.

Lil Baby is not dead

On July 15, 2024, a Lil Baby fan page, lilbabyrares, uploaded a video on Instagram saying that the rapper will appear at the 2024 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards alongside his children Jason and Loyal.

The rapper took to his official Instagram account, shared the fan page's video on his Instagram Story, and wrote alongside the clip, “Armani boyz.”

One Facebook user, Ariee Rose, took to Facebook to confirm that the rapper was alive. “I just got confirmation that he is not dead thank god he just posted this 4 minutes ago on his Instagram,” Rose wrote online. The platform user was referring to the rapper's Instagram story.

Hence, it is safe to say that the musician did not die in a car accident.

This is not the first time claims of the rapper's death have made it online. Netizens often spread disinformation by creating death hoaxes for momentary online popularity. Several other celebrities, including Justin Bieber, DJ Khaled, Meryl Streep, and Will Smith, have fallen prey to the false news of their death. Therefore, it is important to verify such information through credible news outlets.

Although claims of Lil Baby's death in an accident were fake, the rapper was involved in a serious shooting earlier this year. In May 2024, three individuals sustained injuries at one of the singer’s music video shoots. The incident unfolded in Canada, where the rapper was not injured.

A shooting occurred during one of his Memphis concerts as well, and a man was critically injured.
