A moving mugshot of Chris Brown has been making the rounds on social media since Monday. The Neighborhood Talk shared the snippet where Brown can be seen looking into the camera and moving one of his fists up.
The mugshot surfaced as the R&B singer was sued for $50 million after his Fort Worth concert in Texas last weekend. Victims filed the lawsuit with the Harris County District Court on July 22, alleging that Brown and his team severely beat them up after the show.
On the other hand, several social media users claimed Brown was booked into Tarrant County Jail. However, the singer's picture on this post is from his 2014 court appearance for a probation hearing.
Upon searching the inmate records on the website for the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, a person named Christopher Brown was found to be booked there. As per the records, Christopher was arrested on April 17 on aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon and criminal trespass charges. The singer, Chris Brown, is thus not in custody at the Tarrant County Jail.
Moreover, no news of an arrest warrant against Chris Brown, the singer, over the alleged weekend attack has come up yet. The Sensational singer's picture in the video mugshot circulating online is from his 2018 arrest.
In July 2018, Chris Brown was arrested at West Palm Beach on an outstanding Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office warrant. He was charged with felony battery and was booked into the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Brown was released from custody about an hour later on a $2,000 bond. The mugshot taken back then was posted on several outlets, including CNN, Variety, and People.
The 2018 photo was reposted following Brown's latest lawsuit, but as a video, some noted they had never seen a "boomerang mugshot" before. Several others pointed out that the video was created using artificial intelligence.
Chris Brown was not arrested following the alleged Fort Worth violence
The complaint against Chris Brown filed Monday stated the plaintiffs, Joseph Lewis, Damarcus Powell, Larry Parker, and Charles Bush, waited to meet the singer at the VIP area after the concert. The 35-year-old singer reportedly arrived 30 minutes later.
As Charles Bush approached Brown to congratulate him on his 11:11 concert with a handshake, as per the filing, a member from the singer’s crew allegedly asked:
“Man, you don’t remember you two were beefing?”
The complaint read that Brown remembered his alleged feud with Bush and ordered his entourage to beat him up. As the plaintiffs tried to leave the venue, Chris Brown and around seven to ten of his team members allegedly chased after them into a hallway and attacked the four men. The filing claimed:
"Upon instruction by Brown, Parker was then punched in the face and chest, kicked in the head for over ten minutes, and stomped on by Defendant Brown and his associates."
The complaint added:
"Brown encouraged his companions to join in the assault simultaneously. Brown and his entourage then continued to beat Plaintiff Parker closed fisted for almost minutes, repeatedly stomping on Defendant Parker’s head, kicking his face and ribs, and causing severe bodily injury."
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiffs needed medical treatment and Larry Parker was hospitalized. It also added that Larry needs to "undergo extensive medical treatment for the damages he suffered in the attack, including head injuries."
In the court filing submitted by attorneys Caroline Adams and Tony Buzbee, the plaintiffs demanded $50 million in punitive damages and "pecuniary losses, pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish, and past, present, and future medical expenses."
The singer has yet to respond to the allegations and the lawsuit. However, he is not in custody on any criminal charges for this incident as of now. Thus, the mugshot that is implied to be related to the alleged Fort Worth attack is falsely conjured.
