Rumors that 50 Cent will attend the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee started circulating on social media after Michael Whatley, the event’s chairman, announced the rapper’s attendance on The Benny Show. However, 50 Cent’s representatives confirmed to The Daily Beast that the rapper will not attend the event as he is “slated to be somewhere else” during the time.

The clip of Michael Whatley talking about the rapper’s attendance at the RNC, posted on X on July 15, went viral, amassing almost 100K views.

This caused a stir online, with people expecting to see 50 Cent at the convention. However, his representatives quickly shut down the rumors, adding that he will be "in Shreveport preparing for his upcoming Humor & Harmony festival."

The Republican National Convention is taking place at the Fiserv Forum Arena in Milwaukee from July 15 to July 18, 2024. Republican candidate Donald Trump will officially be voted as the nominee for the Republican Party at the four-day event, just days after he survived an alleged assassination attempt on July 13.

50 Cent's song Many Men went viral after the Trump rally shooting

On July 13, 2024, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks reportedly shot Donald Trump during his speech at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The bullet grazed Trump in his right ear, but other than that, the former US President was unharmed. However, one person died, and two others were injured in the shooting. Crooks was also reportedly killed by Secret Service snipers just minutes after the shooting.

Trump's defiant photo of him standing at the podium with a raised fist and blood running down his face went viral on social media. Several people posted the picture with 50 Cent's Many Men (Wish Death). In the song from his debut 2003 album, Get Rich or Die Tryin', 50 Cent recalls his experience of being shot at nine times in 2000.

“Many men wish death upon me / Blood in my eye, dawg, and I can't see / I'm tryin' to be what I'm destined to be / And ni***as tryin' to take my life away,” the lyrics go.

The rapper, who is very active on social media, noticed that he was trending on social platforms. He then tweeted an edit of the album cover with Trump's face. The post was captioned, “Trump gets shot and now I’m trending.” He also performed a show recently with the album art as the backdrop.

The rapper and business mogul visited Capitol Hill earlier this year, where he was asked who would receive his vote in the November elections. 50 Cent claimed he was undecided. He supported Trump during the 2020 election but later changed his mind and stood behind Biden, claiming to have "never liked" Trump.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, will host the Humor & Harmony festival in Shreveport from August 8 to August 11, 2024. The 4-day festival will reportedly include comedy shows, a classic car show, music shows, and a celebrity basketball tournament.

According to the Shreveport Times, the artists in the lineup include DaBaby, 2 Chainz, French Montana, Katt Williams, and comedian Matt Rife. Tickets for the event are now on sale via Ticketmaster and on the festival's official website.
