On July 22, 2024, President Joe Biden officially announced his intention to drop out of the 2024 Presidential Election against former US President Donald J. Trump.

As per the statements made on President Biden's social media accounts, the head of state will not be seeking reelection and will be solely focusing on fulfilling his presidential duties for the remainder of his term.

Joe Biden also took to Instagram to officially announce his endorsement of current Vice President Kamala Harris being considered as his replacement for the Democratic party's top nominee, when he stated:

"Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this."

With Biden's announcement trending on social media, the music community has taken to social media with popular rappers, singers, and songwriters, sharing their thoughts and opinions on the President's decision to drop out of the 2024 race.

Artists like Lil Nas X, Finneas, and more took to Twitter to express their thanks to President Joe Biden and his service, while also citing their appreciation for Kamala Harris being endorsed as the next pick for the Democratic party.

"AHAHAHAHA LETS GOOOOO I TOLD YALLL KAMALA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE 2024 candidate…..STOP F*KIN PLAYIN WITH ME !!!!!!!" - Cardi B stated on X.
"Why did Joe Biden drop out of the presidential race?" - Soulja Boy stated.
"Joe Biden will go down in history as a man who accomplished significant achievements in his 4 year term. We should be grateful for his upholding of our democracy." - Barbra Streisand posted on her official X profile.
"We are truly living in unprecedented times" - Lizzo captioned her Instagram post.
"I see a person putting the people before themselves and their pride today and for that, I have an enormous amount of respect." - Finneas posted on Instagram.

President Joe Biden announces he will be bowing out of the 2024 Presidential Election

On July 22, 2024, a scanned and signed statement from President Joe Biden was uploaded to his Instagram account, confirming that he will be stepping down from the 2024 presidential election.

The President's official statement begins by highlighting the change brought about during his tenure when he addressed the American citizens by stating:

"My Fellow Americans, Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation. Today America has the strongest economy in the world. We've made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans"

President Biden continues to express his gratitude for the various changes that were brought about during his administration before thanking the American people for always supporting him.

"It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term." - President Joe Biden continues.

The head of state then proceeds to highlight that he will address the Nation later this week and provide more details regarding his decision to step down from the 2024 Presidential Election.

He then expresses his gratitude for the support and faith Vice President Kamala Harris has shown him during his term in office, calling her an "extraordinary partner."

"I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing Americans can't do - when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America." - President Joe Biden concludes his statement.

More recently, President Biden had issued a statement condoning the violent actions that led to an assassination attempt on Donald Trump during the former President's Pennsylvania rally.
