Nicki Minaj is a legendary rapper in her own right. With five studio albums, four solo headlining tours, countless live festivals, event performances, and collaborations under her belt, Minaj is rightfully the queen of rap.
As is justified for a queen, the Young Money artist is also entitled to all the comfort and luxury she fancies when she's away from home and traveling for a tour.
In 2012, when Minaj started traveling for her first solo headlining tour, the rapper had a detailed idea of everything she needed in her dressing room for herself and her entourage before she performed on-stage. Here's a look at the first tour rider list Nicki had created as an artist.
Nicki Minaj is particular about the brands of bottled water and juices she requires on tour
Nicki Minaj kicked off her Pink Friday world tour on May 16, 2012, to promote both her first and second studio albums launched in 2010 and 2012 respectively.
While on tour, the Anaconda rapper sent her crew a long list of requirements that should be ready for her and her entourage, who hung out with her backstage, in their dressing room when she arrived.
Nicki Minaj was interviewed by Wonderland magazine for its February/March issue, where she hinted at it being a long list. The magazine later requested and obtained a full tour rider list from the rapper's team.
It appeared to be surprisingly specific and comprehensive, covering not only what Minaj would eat and drink but also items to set the ambiance as she prepared to perform for the Barbz.
To set the tone of her dressing room, Nicki ordered two dozen white and pink roses, alongside three large Baked Goods scented candles. For her diet, the Only rapper knew exactly what she wanted for meals as well as what she wanted to snack on.
Her breakfast requirements were egg whites, turkey bacon, dried cranberries, raw almonds, white toast with grape and strawberry jam and Belgian waffles, with syrup, whipped cream, powdered sugar, butter, and strawberries on the side. This was combined with one large cheese platter and a large fruit platter, with a side of mango.
To accompany her breakfast, the Side to Side rapper asked for 2 large bottles of assorted fruit juices and 1 gallon of Simply Lemonade, along with clean ice and cups to drink them in.
What appeared to be the 41-year-old's lunch menu was a salad consisting of iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, carrots, and green olives. Nicki was particular about getting Wishbone Light Italian dressing, Bumble Bee tuna in water, wheat, or low-fat crackers to go with the salad.
To keep her hydrated on set, Nicki Minaj required a hot tea setup with lemon wedges, sugar, honey, and decaffeinated Lipton tea bags, along with 24 bottles of Dasani water, 12 cans of Red Bull, 24 bottles of Snapple (12 of lemon iced tea and the remaining in assorted flavors), and 12 bottles of Martinelli's apple juice.
For her snacking needs, the Super Freaky Girl rapper made a list of buckets of spicy fried chicken, with only wings and no thighs, a deli tray with turkey breast meat, grilled chicken breast, whole wheat bread, and rolls. Her preferred condiments included yellow mustard, hot sauce, and seasoned salt.
Nicki Minaj's flamboyant requirements were followed by the more serious ones, which she needed to give her best performance. These items included a Singer's Saving Grace throat spray, a cool mist humidifier, two space heaters, a contact lens solution with a case, three packs of Thayers Slippery Elm lozenges, and three packs of gum (all in different flavors).
While the rider list was obtained from Nicki Minaj's first world tour, the rapper has recently concluded her fourth world tour, the Pink Friday 2 world tour, on October 11, following which she has announced a hiatus.
