According to California Governor Gavin Newsom's latest statement, at least 24 people have died as a result of the devastating LA wildfires.
The greater Los Angeles region is being consumed by the spread of two major blazes in the Palisades and Eaton areas, with the latest reports confirming more than 92,000 LA County residents are under evacuation orders.
Regarding the reconstruction efforts, Governor Newsom signed an executive order under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the California Coastal Act to ensure that businesses and families can rebuild faster and without any delays.
“The executive order I signed today will help cut permitting delays, an important first step in allowing our communities to recover faster and stronger. I’ve also ordered our state agencies to identify additional ways to streamline the rebuilding and recovery process,” Governor Gavin Newsom stated.
