Billy McFarland announced Fyre Fest II after the first installment in 2017 fell short of its promises, becoming a disaster for those who invested in tickets. Fyre Fest II is set to take place from April 25, 2025, to April 28, 2025.

In an interview with NBC News dated September 9, 2024, Billy McFarland addressed the fact that the festival is seven and a half months away and revealed the location, stating:

"We have a private island off the coast of Mexico in the Caribbean, and we have an incredible production company who’s handling everything from soup to nuts.”

Billy said that he hopes to gather 3000 people for Fyre Fest II, with ticket prices ranging from $1,400 to $1.1 million. The tickets selling at the higher end would include island hopping, scuba diving, and yachts.

"Proceed with caution" — Former investor Andy King comments on Fyre Fest II

Andy King was an investor in the previous Fyre Fest, which was dubbed disastrous owing to the fact that the festival's attendees were given disaster relief tents, no concert, and cheese sandwiches in foam boxes despite being promised gourmet food and luxury villas.

After Billy McFarland announced Fyre Fest II, the festival's prior investor Andy King told BBC on September 9, 2024:

"Proceed with caution."

Andy King, who reportedly lost $1 million in the festival's first installment, commented:

"[McFarland] known for the biggest failure in pop culture and wants to flip the script. But I'm not sure he's going about it the right way."

Additionally, King mentioned that he hadn't gotten any money from his $1 million investment since the festival's failure and was instead contacted by Billy to meet investors for the upcoming Fyre Fest. Andy King told the publication that he is seeing a "lot of red flags and a lot of red lights" in Billy's plan for the festival and that it saddens him.

However, Billy McFarland mentioned in his interview with NBC that he was 24 years old when he tried to pull off the Fyre Fest the first time, and now he is undertaking it professionally. Showcasing hopefulness in the context of Fyre Fest II, Billy said:

"We have the chance to embrace this storm and really steer our ship into all the chaos that has happened, and if it’s done well, I think Fyre has a chance to be this annual festival that really takes over the festival industry."

Billy McFarland mentioned that he hired a festival production company to manage the bathrooms and handle the stages, along with the stuff he didn't know how to do. He refused to name the island and the production company involved in Fyre Fest II, stating further details would be revealed in the upcoming months. Additionally, he mentioned that they have not booked any artists yet.

Hinting at promises of a better Fyre Fest, Billy McFarland mentioned in his interview that attending the festival wasn't about sharing a stage with 10,000 people but getting on a plane with people who could be friends or people they met the same morning and exploring an island, beach, or reef they didn't know existed.
