Jay-Z and Beyoncé sent a cease and desist to British journalist Piers Morgan after his interview with singer-songwriter Jaguar Wright went viral. In the interview, she called the Carters a “nasty little couple” and compared Jay-Z to the now-disgraced hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In the wake of this, rapper Meek Mill took to X and reshared Cowboy Carter Updates’ (@B7Album) post on the same and wrote:
“F*ck is going on a silent war…..”
Meanwhile, the original post was captioned, “Beyoncé & Jay Z’s lawyers got Pierce Morgan to issue an apology and retraction on his ‘Uncensored’ show after he allowed a deranged woman come on and spew falsehoods about them. Who’s next?”
Meek Mill also shared a follow-up post on the platform asking why Jaguar Wright was invited to such a popular show as Piers Morgan Uncensored.
“Jaguar Wright is like Quilly speaking for Philly… and why do these people have more of a voice than the thoroughbred people?” the Championships rapper wrote.
Notably, Meek Mill shared a close connection with Jay-Z and has reportedly worked under the latter during his time at Roc Nation.
Exploring the circumstances surrounding Jay-Z and Beyoncé's cease and desist to Piers Morgan
On October 8, broadcaster and host Piers Morgan announced on Piers Morgan Uncensored that Jay-Z and Beyoncé defended themselves through a legal order and denied the “bold allegations” made by Jaguar Wright on his show last week (October 3).
"Their lawyers contacted us to say that those claims were totally false, and have no basis in fact… Editing interviews is not something we do lightly, at a show called Uncensored… But there are legal limits on us too."
Piers Morgan mentioned that Jaguar Wright’s claims were “unexpected” and while his show was already out there, he agreed to comply with the Carter couple’s legal request and “edit” out the “bold allegations” she made against them from the interview, now streaming on YouTube. Subsequently, the journalist also issued a mea culpa addressing the pair.
"We apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé," he said.
For those unaware, earlier this month, Jaguar Wright appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored alongside DJ Vlad to discuss the ongoing Diddy scandal. However, she levelled some serious accusations against Jay-Z and Beyoncé. Wright claimed that not just Diddy, but the power couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé were also involved in alleged illicit activities.
“I have three victims right now, who are willing to give testimony about not only what Mr. Carter has done to them but his wife as well. They’re a nasty little couple,” Jaguar said.
She further continued:
“They do nasty things. Keeping people against their will, putting people on planes while they’re unconscious, just like Aaliyah got on that plane, unconscious. There is a lot that people don’t want to talk about, Pierce.”
Elsewhere, Jaguar Wright also alleged the Roc-A-Fella label owner a “monster” and compared him to the likes of convicted s*x offenders including former film producer Harvey Weinstein, late financier Jeffrey Epstein, former record producer R. Kelly, and now-disgraced rapper Sean Combs. She claimed they all have "one person in common professionally and privately. Shawn Carter."
Not only that, but Wright claimed that Mr. Carter “funded” the ‘Me Too’ campaign against R. Kelly and was allegedly behind his arrest and conviction in 2019. She further alleged that Jay was “worse” than Diddy and called him out for staying silent during Combs’ ongoing legal troubles.
Notably, neither Jay-Z nor Beyoncé has ever been held responsible for the alleged actions leveled by Jaguar Wright. However, since Diddy’s arrest on September 16 on charges of s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution, the Carter couple has also been rumored to be involved in similar activities. But so far, there are no known reports of them being investigated.
