During a recent conversation with The Art of Dialogue, Freddy P claimed that his former mentor, Sean “Diddy” Combs, will finally be able to embrace his sexuality for the first time in his life as he remains behind bars. In the video uploaded on YouTube on November 27, the ex-Da Band member shared:

“Everybody knows his charges, um, so they know what he prefers, what his preference is. So, he ain’t got to go in there pretending. This is probably the first time in his life he could probably be, be who he really is, you know, and um being accepted for it.”

Freddy P explained that inmates might be “understanding” and accepting of Diddy’s alleged “homosexuality,” adding, “It’s not as bad as you think” and “the world ain’t going to hate you.” He mentioned how he himself wouldn’t bother about Combs’ alleged gay side as long as the latter didn’t make a move on him.

Further exploring Freddy P’s latest remarks on Diddy

During his latest appearance on The Art of Dialogue podcast, Freddy P said how Diddy could finally be an openly gay man in prison without being shamed. He shared how this is the only part of the Bad Boy Records founder’s story that should not be overlooked.

“I wish Puffy could have just that. I think Puffy could have been a way better person if he just could have been himself,” Freddy mentioned.

The Florida rapper claimed that “hiding secrets” made Combs fall into “situations” he shouldn’t have been in the first place.

“I feel like a lot of this stuff we wouldn’t have been able to accuse him of [if] you just been open like Rupaul,” the former Da Band member added.

Freddy P claimed that the “world is so small” for gay people that they often “targeted” teenagers. However, he said most of them go unaccused or unpunished because it happens “all the time.” According to the emcee, if Diddy previously owned up to liking men, he too could have avoided the current allegations.

“You can accuse Puffy but most homosexuals do that. Most homosexuals are targeting 16–17-year-old kids. Soon as they come out, everybody want to be the one to turn the person out… So, ain’t no difference in that community,” the former Combs associate shared.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Freddy P reacted to the rapper reportedly trying to contact witnesses from prison. He said while Diddy was “not slow,” he wasn’t used to the jail environment and was acting on his “lack of knowledge” and “boss mentality.” The emcee added how it was “hard to break old habits.”

“Puff, he got to learn to adjust to what’s going on around him. You can’t… give these people more excuses, you know, to bury you. It’s looking bad. But let’s say it looks bad enough that you could come home in 10 to 15 years and not make it look bad enough to where you don’t never come home,” Freddy shared.

The former Making the Band contestant shared how even though Diddy might not “deserve” to ever get out of prison, he has “got to try” and make “better decisions.” However, upon hearing that Combs was reportedly in “good spirits” behind bars, Freddy P mentioned how he was “glad” and wished that if Diddy indeed had to “do time,” he would do it “like a boss.”

Rumors of homosexuality have surrounded Combs amid his legal troubles

Since the allegations against Diddy began surfacing, rumors that he was secretly gay have also emerged. Many of his former associates and industry insiders, such as Jaguar Wright, Lord Jamar, and Suge Knight, have claimed that Combs shared alleged romantic/s*xual relationships with Justin Bieber, Meek Mill, and Usher.

Meanwhile, in February 2024, former record producer and videographer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a s*xual harassment, drugging, and blackmail lawsuit against Diddy. In it, the plaintiff mentioned that “a Philadelphia rapper who dated Nicki Minaj” shared a homosexual relationship with Combs. While netizens theorized that the person was Meek Mill from the description, the Dreams and Nightmares rapper refuted the claims.

The same civil suit filed in New York also cited that record executive Stevie J and “an R&B singer who performed at the Superbowl and had a successful Vegas residency” had similar same-s*x relations with Diddy. At the time, the latter was presumed to be Usher, but the rapper never addressed the speculation.
