Amber Rose made an appearance on the Pillow Talk podcast on December 3, 2024. The hosts asked her what did Drake do to "piss everyone off" altogether. Amber answered the question by stating:
"He's biracial, that's what happens. When a biracial person, sometimes when they don't like you, they'll just be like 'You're acting white', 'You're acting light skinned', 'You're Not Like Us'. I've been through that my whole life, so I will always have Drake's back for that reason alone."
Amber Rose was also asked to choose between Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar and she instantly took Drake's name. She said that people want to act like Drizzy is "not the voice of our generation" because he "lost one rap battle."
Appreciating the Passionfruit rapper, she added that one can't take away everything that he has done as far as parties and memories go. Amber Rose also said that people build someone up to throw them away and "they just wanna f*cking throw him away".
"So we're all gonna act like Drake's music isn't the soundtrack of our lives"—Amber Rose took a dig at fans who turned their back on the rapper
According to a report by HotNewHipHop, Amber Rose uploaded an Instagram Story featuring Drake's track Controlla on August 8. She took a dig at fans who turned their back on the rapper. In her Instagram Story, Amber Rose reportedly mentioned:
"So we're all gonna act like Drake's music isn't the soundtrack of our lives... ok."
While Amber defended Drake and sided with him recently, the two did not share an amicable relationship from the start. The publication mentioned that in 2015, Amber seemingly used Drizzy as an example of double standards in the music industry. She attacked media outlets for openly criticizing her links to men while the Family Matters rapper was dubbed a bachelor.
Amber reportedly compared that while she gets called a "sl*t", Drizzy's appearances with women were considered to be a part of his love life.
However, in January 2016, Amber Rose and Drizzy were seen dining together in the wine room at Prime 112, as per a report by Complex. Amber confirmed the same in an Instagram clip, showcasing the One Dance rapper grooving to Fetty Wap's remix of My Way.
Additionally, Drake referenced Amber Rose on his 2018 track Sandra Rose wherein he rapped:
"My mother had a flower shop, but I was Sandra's rose/ Two girls that I rope like Indiana Jones/ I make them h*es walk together like I'm Amber Rose."
In the lyrics, Drizzy referred to the Amber Rose Sl*tWalk. According to The Washington Post, Sl*tWalk is an event organized by the model's nonprofit organization called The Amber Rose Foundation. It has reportedly played an important role in the movement toward gender equality, art empowerment, victim blaming, ending r*pe culture, body shaming, and other social injustice issues.
In other news, Drake recently filed two petitions against Universal Music Group in November 2024, over Kendrick Lamar's diss track Not Like Us. In legal action, Drizzy claimed that UMG and Spotify falsely boosted Lamar's track streams.
Additionally, in a second legal petition, Drizzy accused UMG of defamation citing that the music company was aware of the defamatory lyrics of Kendrick Lamar's track and chose to release it anyway.
