Tommy Richman's announcement of his upcoming debut studio album, Coyote, has garnered largely positive reviews from fans and media outlets, with platforms like the NFR Podcast sharing the announcement on social media.

On June 17, rapper and entrepreneur Russ took to X to share his opinion of Coyote's album announcement and the trajectory of Tommy's career. The SANTIAGO rapper congratulated Richman and his team for effectively capitalizing on his "moment" in hip-hop.

"He’s moving with a sense of urgency and capitalizing on momentum unlike a lot of artists who catch 1 song and parade around for a year and then miss their moment. Kudos to him and his team."

Tommy Richman's debut album Coyote will seemingly include his latest releases and will reportedly be delivered to major DSPs (Digital Streaming Platforms) later this year via ISO Supremacy, under an exclusive license to PULSE Records.

On June 17, Tommy confirmed the title and cover art for his upcoming debut studio album, Coyote, via social media. The rapper posted a two-slide post on Instagram featuring himself seated on a chair in an outfit styled by Emily Cavari, next to a collared coyote.

Tommy expressed his gratitude to Billboard Magazine while announcing his debut studio album Coyote. He captioned the post:

"ANNOUNCING MY DEBUT ALBUM. ITS CALLED COYOTE. BACK OF BILLBOARD MAGAZINE. Thx @billboard."

While the official tracklist for Coyote has not yet been confirmed, it is anticipated that his recent singles will be included. The announcement comes almost two months after the release of his hit single Million Dollar Baby on April 26, 2024.

The single topped TikTok's Billboard Top 50 chart and maintained its position for five weeks. The song has garnered close to 500 million streams on Spotify since it was uploaded to streaming.

With the song blowing up across social media, Million Dollar Baby debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 charts. This success led Tommy to announce his second and most recent single, DEVIL IS A LIE. The song continued on his R&B and Funk production blend and was released last week (June 14) alongside a music video on Richman's official YouTube channel.

The hook on Tommy Richman's DEVIL IS A LIE was praised by his fanbase for capturing the sound and aesthetic of Virginia's early 2000s R&B and hip-hop soundscape, pioneered by Pharrell Williams. Tommy's hook on the track:

"But you got no confidence, lately (Mm, mm) / Really wanna run around and chase me (Mm, mm) / I'm not no Travis, baby, not no Chase B (Ah, ah, ah) / I work too hard, can you f--kin' pay me?"

Although Tommy Richman appears to have blown up from a relatively unknown rapper to one of the biggest names in hip-hop for 2024, the Virginia-based artist has been making music since 2016. His earliest releases on SoundCloud featured a mix of genres, including Trap, Hip Hop, Funk, and Punk Rock.

Tommy Richman is currently signed to Brent Faiyaz's record label ISO Supremacy, in partnership with Pulse Records, for an exclusive record deal that was signed last year.
