On December 16, 2024, Offset seemingly targeted Cardi B's parenting skills on his Instagram story. While the rapper did not mention his ex-beau by name, he posted a picture of himself partying with the text on the image reading:

"Lies told to make me look bad. I couldn't play how you do. Pray for them kids."

According to a report by Billboard dated December 11, 2024, Cardi B was the victim of a prank in October 2024. Someone had anonymously called Child Protective Services (CPS), claiming that she and her ex-husband, Offset, were abusing their children.

Netizens speculated that Offset was referring to Cardi B in his Instagram story and took to the comment section of @thejasminebrand's post featuring Offset's story to express their opinions. Alleging that Offset must've called CPS, an internet user commented:

"Even after you check, you still want to harass"— Cardi B comments on CPS for reportedly harassing her family

As reported by Billboard on December 11, 2024, Cardi B addressed CPS and its investigation into her family during an Instagram Live session on December 10. Alleging that the CPS keeps harassing her, the rapper said that there are actual kids being abused while none of her children have been touched or ever "got a little pow-pow, a little whooping, a little nothing. None of that.”

Cardi said that after the CPS visit in October 2024, the government agency wanted to "fake come back" to her house to examine her children and interview them because she didn't give them her children's information.

She questioned why they were harassing her for her daughter's information and what it had to do with anything. The rapper added that her daughter doesn't have Social Security because she doesn't want anyone to know her name.

“Even after you check, you still want to harass. No b—h, you’re being f–king annoying … You doing the most because I’m a f—–g celebrity. Mind you there’s parents that don’t even buy them a f–king coat because they f–king hate them… This f–king four-eyed b—-h keep pissing me the f–k off,” Cardi said, expressing her annoyance.

The Punteria rapper said she would go to whatever lengths to legally end the CPS investigation, even if it means exposing the CPS agent's details or writing a five-figure check to her legal team.

Additionally, during the Instagram Live, Cardi played a recorded phone conversation between herself, a CPS agent, and Offset. In it, the agent said that anyone could call the CPS in New Jersey, and the government agency would investigate the claims.

During her Instagram Live, Cardi B addressed the CPS drama and assured fans that she didn't think Offset was responsible for giving a tip to the government agency. Calling Offset a "loser," the rapper said it had nothing to do with him and was a prank call.
