Singer-songwriter and record producer Finneas went viral for kissing his guitarist during a concert. During his concert at Warsaw Concerts in Brooklyn, New York City, on Saturday, October 12, the Grammy-winning artist and brother of Billie Eilish performed his hit 2022 track 1 True Love from the 2022 movie Turning Red.
As showcased in a few recordings of the performance, posted on social media by members of the audience, Finneas had his hand around his guitarist as he performed 1 True Love. However, at one point, the wholesome moment turned even sweeter as Finneas and his guitarist locked eyes and the singer planted a kiss on the man's lips as the audience erupted.
Social media users had a lot to say about Finneas' kiss. One user, who went by @ipodbake on X (formerly known as Twitter) thought that the producer was queer-baiting. The social media users asked:
"so now he’s queerbaiting too?"
Similar reactions followed as many other users compared Finneas with his sister Billie Eilish and insinuated that he was queer-baiting. Here are a few X reactions to Finneas kissing his guitarist:
A few social media users were left confused and asked if the record producer was still with his girlfriend since 2018, YouTuber Claudia Sulewski.
Finneas' sister Billie Eilish regrets opening up about her s*xuality
Back in November 2023, Variety magazine did a Power of Women cover story featuring Billie Eilish. In her cover story, Eilish opened up about being attracted to women. She talked about being physically attracted to and intimidated by the beauty and presence of women. She told the publication:
"I’ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real."
Later in December of the same year, Eilish revealed during a red carpet interview at Variety‘s Hitmakers event that she did not really intend on "coming out" with the aforementioned article. However, the singer felt that her attraction to women was obvious. During the interview, Eilish proudly proclaimed that she was "for the girls."
However, in an interview with Vogue, published on Tuesday, October 8, Eilish expressed her frustration and regret over talking about her sexuality. She said:
"I wish no one knew anything about my sexuality or anything about my dating life. Ever, ever, ever."
She added:
"And I hope that they never will again. And I’m never talking about my s*xuality ever again. And I’m never talking about who I’m dating ever again."
The singer felt that her history of being too open and honest came back to haunt her quite frequently. Billie Eilish also conceded that she underestimated things that would be "blown up into the biggest news".
