American rapper Plies has been making headlines owing to his criticism of Donald Trump, besides which the rapper recently took to X to make allegations about Elon Musk. In the rapper's tweet dated August 7, 2024, Plies stated,

"I Can See Elon Shutting Down Twitter When Trump Continues To Fall Behind In The Polls. He Brought Twitter To Influence The Election. An Before He Accepts A Trump Loss I Believe He’ll Shut It All Down!!!!!"

The rapper's statement on Elon Musk buying Twitter to influence the election garnered varied opinions from internet users wherein one of the X users tweeted,

"This is not a good take, considering he would be throwing $44B out the window."

"Trump Is Feeling This Election Slipping Away From Him" — Plies comments on Donald Trump's campaigning efforts

Off late Plies has been showcasing his support for Kamala Harris while constantly criticizing and commenting on Donald Trump. On July 31, 2024, Trump attended the NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists) Convention in Chicago wherein he bashed the panel and also questioned Kamala Harris' ethnicity by asking if she could be a DEI (Diversity, equity, and inclusion) hire referring to her Black ethnicity.

Plies expressed his anger at Trump and his Black supporters, questioning their silence since the convention. Taking to X on August 1, 2024, the rapper shared a video wherein he questioned where was the "Trump for Black folks" and why were his supporters quiet suddenly.

In the video, the rapper stated that Trump's statement at the NABJ Convention showed everyone how the former President feels about people who don't look like him, mocking his Black supporters.
