The former United States President, Donald Trump, was ushered out of his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, in what is being investigated as a "potential act of domestic terrorism."

During the presidential rally, an assassination attempt on Trump's life went wrong and reportedly led to civilian casualties. One rally attendee even succumbed to his injuries after being shot while protecting his family.

The presidential candidate sustained noncritical injuries to his right ear and was confirmed to be in stable condition. The FBI announced that the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed after the US Secret Service shot the 20-year-old, who had positioned himself on top of a neighboring building's roof.

Saturday's attack on Donald Trump has sparked several conversations online with "#TrumpAssasinationAttempt" currently trending on X. While news media outlets continue to report on further developments, celebrities and rappers have taken to social media to express their opinions on the assassination attempt.

Amongst the various reactions, Lil Pump was seen reposting a clip of the shooting on X, highlighting his support and expressing his relief to find out former President Donald Trump had survived the attack. Both individuals have publicly supported each other, with Trump even bringing the artist out during his 2020 presidential rally, where he mistakenly called the rapper "Lil Pimp".

Similar reactions followed, with several rappers expressing their gratitude to finding out Trump had survived the assassination attempt, while also condemning the act of violence at his political rally.

"This aint cool. I aint voting for him and dont support him but wishing death on someone aint it." - Kid Cudi responds to an individual's sarcastic remark regarding the assassination.
"Ain’t no way they just shot at trump" - Soulja Boy states after reposting a clip of the shooting.

Although a few rappers can be seen being less sympathetic to last Saturday's events, it appears that many rappers are publicly voicing their opinions regarding Donald Trump's "Assassination Attempt" on social media.

"When All The School Shootings Was Happening It Was No Big Deal Remember!!! They Loved Guns!! So This Shouldn't Be A Big Deal Neither!! Mainstream Media Hate This Cause Now They Forced To Talk About Something Else!! See God Work!! He Doesn't Like Ugly!!" - Plies states on Instagram.

What went down at Donald Trump's Pennsylvania Presidential Rally

The Pennsylvania rally kicked off with Donald Trump taking the stage at Butler Farm Show Inc. while God Bless the U.S.A. played in the background. The presidential candidate waves to attendees who had gathered in front of him as well as on risers set up behind the podium.

During his regular rally speech, police officers were notified of a suspicious individual pacing near the security checks and magnometers, before supposedly climbing a ladder to a neighboring building.

The shooter was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks by the FBI. A police officer reportedly followed him to the roof but dropped to safety after Crooks turned in his direction.

While former President Donald Trump was discussing "Border Numbers," gunshots began to ring out across the rally, with the first shot reportedly hitting the presidential candidate in his right ear. Immediately upon being hit, Trump crouched down as several Secret Service agents rushed to the stage and surrounded him in an attempt to shield the candidate from further gunfire.

Secret Service snipers then target and counter-strike Crooks, killing the shooter on top of the roof, who had seemingly been using an Assault Rifle. Amid the violent commotion, 50-year-old Corey Comperatore was shot and killed after reportedly using his body as a shield to protect his family, who were in attendance.

While being ushered out of the rally by secret service agents, Trump turned to the crowd and pumped his fist in the air as the crowd begins to chant "USA. USA. USA.". The former President was then immediately taken to a local hospital and was later confirmed to be in a "stable condition".

Following the shooting, Donald Trump took to Truth Social Media to extend his condolences to Corey's family and another individual who was shot during the attack. The former President then revealed he was shot in his right ear when he stated:

"I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

President Joe Biden took to social media to post a clip of his official statement regarding the reported "Pennsylvania Assassination Attempt" on Donald Trump.

The President highlights that as this election progresses, Americans will face a "time of testing" as emotions and passions become more intense, before ending his statement by condemning the violent actions seen during Trump's Saturday rally
