On Tuesday, June 25, Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer Davido tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend and celebrity chef Chioma Rowland in a lavish wedding ceremony at Harbor Point in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
He shared his wedding pictures with the world by posting a series of them on Instagram with the caption, “#CHIVIDO24.” The follow-up post contained a video of the newlywed couple.
Davido and Chioma have been in a relationship since 2017 and made their first public appearance in 2018. In 2019, they got engaged and soon became parents to their son, Ifeanyi.
Their wedding was indefinitely postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and they suffered the tragic loss of their child in 2022. The pair went away from the limelight in the wake of the crisis until the Dami Duro singer’s much-publicized performance at the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup Final.
Around this time, rumors arose that the couple was secretly married, which they later confirmed in 2023, following the birth of their twins in October of that year.
Recently, Davido and Chioma had their official nuptial in the presence of close friends and family, including his billionaire father and three siblings.
Davido’s father is a billionaire businessman
Davido was born in November 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, to a billionaire businessman father, Adedeji Adeleke, and a university lecturer mother, Dr. Veronica Adeleke, who died in March 2003. He was named after his father, David Adedeji Adeleke, but later mononymously adopted the professional name Davido when he began his career.
The Unavailable crooner was raised alongside three siblings: half-brother Adewale and sisters Sharon and Ashley Coco, and they all share a close bond to date.
Adewale Adeleke and Davido share the same father but different mothers. In fact, the former was Adedeji Adeleke’s son from his first marriage to California-based attorney Grace Ajunwa.
He is four years older than the Son of Mercy singer and is a music producer. The half-brother duo co-founded the HKN Music label, of which Adewale is a chairman. The label has produced music for notable artists, including B. Red and Sina Rambo.
Adewale is also one of the directors of Pacific Holdings, a company founded and owned by his father. He is married to Ekanem Kami, and the couple has two kids.
David’s sister, Sharon Adeleke, is a year older than him and owns a celebrity hair business in Nigeria called Rona Wigs Studio. She is an entrepreneur, hairstylist, and self-taught wig maker and prefers to live a life away from the limelight. She is married to Yomi Ademefun and has a child.
Ashley Coco Adaji is a business partner of their father and half-brother at Pacific Holdings, is the company’s executive director, and also oversees the human resources department. She got married to Dubai-based businessman Caleb Adaji in 2016.
As for Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke, he is currently in his late sixties and is the CEO of Pacific Holdings and the President and co-founder of Adeleke University, a private educational institution in Ede, Osun State, southwestern Nigeria. It provides higher educational opportunities to the less privileged students in the country.
The multiple-time Grammy nominee also has a famous paternal uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who has been the Governor of Osun State since 2022.
