Ariana Grande married the real estate agent, Dalton Gomez, in 2021, but the couple filed for a divorce two years later.

While neither Grande nor Gomez has made any public comments about the reason behind their decision, in her filing documents, the 7 Rings singer's lawyer, Laura Wasser, cited it to be "irreconcilable differences," as reported by Teen Vogue.

According to BBC, Ari and Dalton's divorce was finalized on March 19, 2024, with the singer-songwriter required to pay Gomez a one-time settlement amount of $1.25m (£980,000). The Wicked actress would also pay $25,000 towards her ex-husband's lawyer's fee but would need to pay no future alimony moving forward.

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez had signed a prenuptial agreement before marriage

According to Page Six, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez had signed an "iron-clad prenuptial agreement" which helped the process of their divorce go smoothly, without any challenges. The prenup stated that any community property shared by the couple during the term of their marriage be equally between the pair following divorce, which was also true of their marital home in LA.

It was both Grande and Gomez's decision to sell their marital home after separation; they had to pay a mortgage of $6 million upfront to be able to put the house on the property market. As their prenup dictates, the selling price of the house would be divided equally among the two.

The divorce settlement barred both parties "from releasing or publishing any photograph (and related negatives), tape, film or like embodiments in all forms.” These include photos and videos from their home, office, or any other property owned by them.

The settlement between the couple also included a term that bans Ariana Grande from sharing any details of their relationship publicly, or pen a "tell-all book about their marriage."

On his part, Gomez cannot “give any interview, write, appear in connection with, or assist or cooperate in the preparation or presentation of any book, article, interview, program or other production or publication of any kind whatsoever concerning the other party.”

Ariana and Dalton had separated two months before filing for divorce

While Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez filed for divorce in September 2023, the couple had reportedly separated two months before it. In July 2023, US Weekly confirmed that Grande and Dalton had started living separately, with an exclusive insider source revealing that:

“Ariana and Dalton have been having some issues for months now. They were having issues before she left for Wicked filming [in London] that they couldn’t resolve, and the distance did not help. They haven’t been speaking and are separated, and a divorce is likely."

The source also stated how the couple was thriving together until the beginning of 2023, which is when the problems began, adding:

“Things had been going really well for Ariana and Dalton since they got married. But unfortunately, they hit a rough patch a few months ago and haven’t been able to recover.”

The relationship between Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez was first confirmed in May 2020, with the release of her collaborative work with Justin Bieber - Stuck With U.

Following their separation, both Grande and Gomez started seeing other people. Reportedly, the real estate agent is now dating the At Any Price actress, Maika Monroe. Meanwhile, Ari is dating Ethan Slater, her co-star from the upcoming musical, Wicked, as per a US Weekly source.

Before Gomez, Ari was dating Pete Davidson in 2018, with whom she had also got engaged a few months into the relationship. However, by the end of 2018, the couple had decided to call the engagement off and part ways.
