Oasis is set to embark on their 2025 reunion tour from July 4, 2025, to August 19, 2025, across the UK and Ireland. The tickets for the tour were released on August 31, 2024, and used a system called dynamic pricing, which hikes up ticket prices based on the market demand for a ticket.

This pricing saw ticket prices rise from £135 at the start of the sale to over £350 in the UK and from €86.50 to €415.50 for the Irish shows. Such ticket price hikes have now led to a government probe in the UK and the calls for a consumer probe in Ireland respectively.

In the UK, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy elaborated on the probe that has been instituted, stating that the probe by the government will include transparancy related to the dynamic pricing and that she wanted to ensure that tickets are sold at the correct prices:

"Working with artists, industry and fans we can create a fairer system that ends the scourge of touts, rip-off resales and ensures tickets at fair prices."

Oasis and its representatives have not commented on the UK government probe or the issue surrounding the dynamic pricing of their upcoming 2025 reunion tour tickets.

Irish Minister calls for Consumer Probe on Oasis tour ticket dynamic pricing

As mentioned above, fans in Ireland faced a similar situation regarding the Oasis tour's shows in the country. Now Irish MEP Regina Doherty has called for a consumer probe on the dynamic pricing of the Oasis tour tickets, stating in a general press statement:

"When ticket prices were advertised earlier this week, standing tickets in Croke Park were 86.50 euro plus booking fees, but when many people eventually got through the online queue this morning, they were faced with the exact same ticket at a price of 415.50 euro. That’s not transparent advertising and certainly not fair to consumers"

The MEP continued:

"The EU’s Digital Services Act has sections included specifically to ensure large platforms that control aspects of the digital economy don’t just make up their own rules that are unfair for consumers. Every ticket for these gigs was always going to be ‘in demand’ so slapping an extra label and 300 euro on some standing tickets is just extortionate."

Ticketmaster has reiterated that it does not set prices and prices are ultimately up to venues. However, neither the venues nor the Irish shows' organizer MCD, has responded to the controversy as of the writing of this article.
