Selena Gomez made her big-screen debut as Beatrice Quimby in the movie adaptation of Beverly Cleary's Ramona series of novels. The Naturally singer switched from her role as the middle child in Wizards Of Waverly Place to that of an elder sister in Ramona and Beezus.
Gomez played the role of a studious elder sister, Beatrice Quimby, fondly known as Beezus, to her funny and mischievous younger sister, Ramona Quimby (played by then-newcomer Joey King). Beezus and Ramona often fight owing to their strikingly different personalities, but they get closer as they grow older.
Selena Gomez was 17 when the heartwarming family movie was released in 2010. More than a decade after its release, Joey King fondly remembers her co-actress and holds her in high regard.

Selena Gomez played this character in Ramona and Beezus

In an interview with Entertainment Special, the Monte Carlo revealed that Beatrice "wants to be just like her mom" with straight A's. She added that she doesn't have the "freedom" her little sister does because of the responsibilities she undertakes as a young adult.
Gomez also spoke about her relationship with Joey King off the screen and noted that they were "inseparable." She also told MTV News in 2010,
"Even when they stopped, when they would say 'cut,' we would still just be as loud and talking."
In an interview with CBS in 2010, Gomez revealed that she had opted to play Beatrice because it was completely different from what she had played in her Disney show, Wizards Of Waverly Place.
In an interview with CBS in 2010, Gomez also reveals how different she is from her character, Beezus. While her character is considered the 'perfect' child with straight A's, Gomez revealed,
"That was never me. I made B's and sometimes C's, but I tried really hard."
