As news of Liam Payne's tragic and untimely death makes headlines, fans and celebrities pay tribute to the singer. On Wednesday, October 16, the former One Direction member was found dead after falling from the third floor of his hotel room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Per Associated Press, citing local authorities, his fall resulted in “extremely serious injuries," with medics confirming his death on the spot.
In a statement, Pablo Policicchio, the Communications Director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, told the publication that cops were called to the hotel after a guest under the influence of "drugs or alcohol" was behaving aggressively and trashing the room.
Fans and celebrities alike mourned the pop star's loss. Singer Charlie Puth was one of the first to share a statement. He took to his Instagram stories to share photos and videos with Liam Payne and the message:
