With President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 Presidential Election going viral across social media platforms, however, some users on X have noticed that J Cole is currently trending alongside the head of state.
Today (July 22) President Biden issued a statement to all American citizens on his official Instagram account citing his appreciation and gratitude for those who've supported him during his tenure, before announcing that he will be stepping down from the Election.
He also praised Vice President Kamala Harris, in a follow-up post, for helping with his administration before endorsing her as the Democratic Party's top pick for his replacement, when he stated:
"My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year."
It appears that users on X (formerly Twitter) are drawing comparisons to Biden officially dropping out of the 2024 Election race to the recent Dreamville concert, where Cole publicly apologized to Kendrick Lamar before stepping away from the rap beef.
One user reposted a collage of Joe Biden and J Cole, originally uploaded by Club Ambition, to highlight their confusion over why the rapper was trending after the President announced his withdrawal from the Election Race.
Similar reactions followed with several Netizens bringing up similarities between Cole's apology and President Biden's statement, with one individual jokingly nominating the rapper as a candidate for the ongoing US Elections.
"J cole for democrat nomination 2024" - stated one user.
"Joe Biden out here taking the J Cole route.. bruh said I’m out" - one user jokingly stated.
"I bet Joe Biden feels exactly how J Cole felt" - suggest another.
Several netizens even dubbed this a "drop-out" battle between the former president and the rapper.
"Joe Biden knew he couldn’t beat Trump. He stepped aside like J.Cole" - one individual stated.
"Who won the Drop out battle J Cole or Joe Biden" - one individual captioned their meme post.
"Biden pulled a J. Cole." - said another user.
Kamala Harris responds to President Joe Biden stepping down from the 2024 Presidential Election
A few hours after President Biden announced his withdrawal from the Elections and endorsed his current Vice President to be the Democratic Party's top pick, VP Kamala Harris took to social media to share her thoughts on the situation.
She begins by thanking Joe Biden on behalf of the American people for his "extraordinary" leadership during his term as well as sharing her appreciation for the decades of service he's put in.
VP Harris then proceeds to share her gratitude for receiving President Biden's endorsement and cites her intention to win the 2024 Election. She continues by highlighting her plan to unite the Democratic Party and the United States while stating she would be defeating Trump.
"I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda. If you’re with me, add a donation right now." - Kamala Harris stated.
Kamala Harris ends her statement by bringing up Trump's 2025 agenda, calling it "extreme," before speaking to supporters to come together to help her achieve this goal.
Minutes after President Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 Elections, former President Donald Trump spoke with CNN to share his thoughts on the matter.
"The single worst president by far in the history of our country." - Donald Trump stated when describing President Joe Biden.
Although several high-ranking government officials, lawmakers, minority communities, and groups, have supported the President's decision to endorse Kamala Harris as the top pick, it's still unclear who the Democratic Party will nominate for the 2024 Presidential Election.
As per a report from CNN, Vice President Kamala Harris has received over 500 endorsements from Democratic delegates, since Joe Biden announced his decision to end his reelection bid.
