Future and Metro Boomin kicked off their We Trust in You Tour on July 30, 2024, from Kansas City. The first show of the tour made headlines as videos of Future seemingly getting emotional while performing Wait For U, which was the rapper's collaboration with Drake, went viral.
The Superhero rapper and Drizzy have a shaky relationship comprising collaborations together and diss tracks against one another.
An X account posted the video of the rapper getting emotional while performing one of his collabs with Drizzy and also mentioned that the top 5 songs of his set in the tour include his collaborations with Drake.
Internet users were quick to express their opinions on the same via X, wherein one of the fans referred to the rapper's nickname "Pluto" and tweeted:
"I hope Pluto and Drake make up"
"Honestly, they gotta hash this s*it out … they’re an iconic duo .. the music game need them" an X user tweeted
"Drake even mention him and Pluto relationship and how it hurt him they’re arguing" another X user tweeted
"We miss them making bangers after bangers together also." an internet user tweeted
On the other hand, some internet users expressed their opinions on the Mask Off rapper being better off without Drizzy:
"The song didn’t need Drake on it but it’s a beautiful song they make beautiful music but Tems and future had a different chemistry" an X user tweeted
"I don’t think he misses either we or concerns himself with charts" another X user tweeted
"He’s crying because of how emotional the song is not Drake lmao," an internet user tweeted
"Pluto sh*t make me sick to my stomach, we ain't never really been through it"- Drake disses Future in Family Matters
The shaky relationship between Drizzy and Future began in 2011 after the two rappers collaborated on the latter's remix of Tony Montana and Drake didn't feature in its music video which was hurtful to the Solo rapper.
This led to the rapper talking ill about Drake in certain interviews, post which Drizzy removed the Fried rapper from his record label OVO's Would You Like a Tour in 2013.
Over the years, the two rappers have shared a bitter-sweet relationship wherein they have collaborated a few times and become distant as well.
However, the most recent event in Drake and Future's tumultuous relationship was when Drizzy unfollowed the Pushin P rapper on Instagram after he released We Don't Trust You in March 2024, with Metro Boomin, alleged to be a diss track on Drizzy.
This led to Drake calling out the Everyday Hustle rapper in his track Family Matters released in May 2024. Drizzy mentioned the rapper's nickname in the lyrics which read:
“Pluto sh*t make me sick to my stomach, we ain't never really been through it/ Leland Wayne, he a f***in' lame, so I know he had to be an influence”
Not only did Drake diss Future but also referred to Metro Boomin by his real name Leland Green and blamed him for his issues with Pluto.
Drizzy has a feud with Future as well as Metro Boomin, and his beef with the latter began in 2022. Metro Boomin reacted to a tweet comparing the streaming numbers on his album Heroes and Villians to Drake's Her Loss.
In his tweet, Metro Boomin wrote "Yet Her Loss keeps winning rap album of the year over H&V," indicating that his album had more streaming numbers yet it couldn't bag an award due to Drizzy's influence in the industry.
