Frankie Valli recently responded to the viral video of him seemingly looking disoriented and lip-syncing to his songs while performing on stage. Videos from The Four Seasons singer's Friday, September 27, New Brunswick State Theatre performance and other shows went viral on social media after they showcased the singer's primary reliance on backup vocals and mouthing words to his tracks.

This led to rumors about Valli's health spreading like wildfire, with some even claiming that he was being forced to perform by his team. In a statement to People magazine on Monday, September 30, Valli cleared that no one was forcing him to go on stage.

"I get a chuckle from the comments wondering if someone forcing me to go on stage. Nobody has ever made me do anything I didn’t want to do, Valli said, adding, "I plan to be doing shows as long as I can, delivering that great Four Seasons sound. Like that line in Jersey Boys, I’m like that bunny on TV, that just keeps going and going and going. Chasing the music."

"I am blessed to be 90 years old and still be doing what I love to do"— Frankie Valli addresses rumors about his health

As mentioned, Frankie Valli's September 27 performance led many social media users to speculate about the legendary singer's health. He was even seen mouthing the words to his 1978 hit song, Grease. Many other performances of a seemingly tired Frankie Valli also went viral, especially on TikTok.

As per People magazine, a couple of the viral videos included one where the singer was behind on the choreography of his song December 1963 (Oh What a Night) and another performance where he missed a few lyrics to Bye, Bye, Baby (Baby, Goodbye).

As the speculations and rumors mounted, Frankie Valli released a statement to People magazine on Monday, clarifying the situation. The singer said he'd seen things about him online and wanted to "clear the air."

"I am blessed to be 90 years old and still be doing what I love to do and as long as I am able, and audiences want to come see me, I am going to be out there performing as I always. I absolutely love what I do. And I know we put on a great show because our fans are still coming out in force and the show still rocks," Valli said.

Valli later explained how his shows were done. As per the singer, the sound of The Four Seasons Quartet was always about "layering vocals and instruments," using their 60 years of experience to sound just like the records. Apart from his own singing, he also had "great arrangements" in having other singers who also sang.

This is not the first time Frankie Valli has addressed speculations regarding his health and on-stage performances. A video of Valli barely being able to move and sing during his August 3, 2024, performance at Saratoga, California's Mountain Winery, went viral. Following concern from fans, the singer's team shared a statement on Facebook that read:

"Frankie is doing just fine and is super happy to be still performing. The audiences are filling venues and listening to some great music. Frankie is doing what he loves to do at 90… we should be so lucky."

Frankie Valli turned 90 years old earlier in May 2024. In line with his statement, Valli and The Four Seasons are all set to continue their tour of the country until April 2025.
