American singer and actress Janet Jackson appeared on Dev Griffin's radio show to talk about her Together Again tour. During the interview with Heart radio channel, Janet talked about her music influences and why this is her hardest tour yet.

When Dev Griffin asked her if she encountered a question or had a question in mind that she wanted people to stop asking her, Janet Jackson replied by stating she didn't want to be rude. The singer told Griffin,

"Please stop asking me questions. Don't ask me questions, are we finished? Because I never thought I gave a good interview. I don't, I really don't like speaking."

Janet continued by saying that she would rather have other people talk and quietly listen to them, and that is how she has always been.

"It’s the hardest show that I’ve done in a very long time,": Janet Jackson comments on the ongoing tour

Taking its name from Janet Jackson's international hit from 1997's The Velvet Rope, the "Together Again" tour began on April 14, 2023, from Hollywood, Floria, and is to end on October 13, 2024, in Glasgow, Scotland.

The ongoing tour is Janet's highest-grossing tour to date and in May 2023, Touring Data tweeted the singer earned the highest-grossing arena concert of her career with $1.920 million at Madison Square Garden, New York.

The singer was asked if she has a favorite song from her setlist or likes to perform a particular part, to which Janet responded she enjoys them all. However, she stated a liking to the songs that aren't serious as they give her the liberty to "clown around a bit on stage".

Janet mentioned,

“It’s the hardest show that I’ve done in a very long time. We've all been talking about that. Some of the guys have been with me since 2006 and its the hardest tour that we've done. But, it’s a fun show though.”

Ahead in the interview, Dev Griffin asked Janet if there was an artist or a performance that blew her away. Janet Jackson asked if she could exclude family from her answer, as the musicians in her family and their work spoke to the singer first. Janet is the sister of the late "King of Pop" Michael Jackson. She also mentioned her maternal cousin Stevie Wonder and continued her answer by stating,

“I remember seeing Earth, Wind & Fire as a kid…just unforgettable. Really blew me away [with their] musicianship and body of work,”

The singer also recalled watching Prince when she was in her early 20s and he did some songs she wasn't familiar with. That is when Janet thought that if she ever performed on Prince's level, she wanted to do songs that people were familiar with.

Toward the end of the interview, Dev Griffin acknowledged Janet Jackson's impact on helping girls move on from their breakups and tough times as he spoke from the real-life experience of having a sister who was Janet's fan. The singer happily received the compliment and signed off.

Janet Jackson's "Together Again" Tour featured 36 sold-out dates in 2023 and the second run of the concert features the singer performing in Detroit, Toronto, Tampa, Atlanta, and New Orleans, among other places. Rapper Nelly will accompany Janet on all the dates.
