Drake recently commented on Loe Shimmy's new song Leave, which garnered a lot of attention toward the track and Drizzy's words of encouragement for the artist. In his comment, Drizzy stated:

"I tried to like this twice on god"

While Loe Shimmy's track was released in November 2024, the One Dance rapper dropped a comment on the song's official video on Instagram on January 3, 2025. Loe Shimmy and Drizzy met in March 2024, wherein Drizzy embraced Loe Shimmy and exclaimed "finally" on meeting him. The two also expressed that it was good to see one another.

The recent instance of Drizzy commenting on Loe Shimmy's song isn't the first time he has encouraged other artists. In addition to signing new talent to his OVO label, the rapper encouraged musicians to give other artists their flowers.

Winning top male artist at the 2019 Billboards, the Passionfruit rapper said:

"We've obviously had like an unfortunate series of losses within our business, and I just want to encourage everyone to let other artists know how you feel about them. Let them know that you love them (and) respect them while we're all still here."

"My situation is not no street sh*t."- Drake allegedly comments on his claims against Universal Music Group

According to a report by HotNewHipHop dated January 7, 2025, Chris Blake Griffith shared a now-deleted screenshot on Instagram wherein Drake allegedly commented on his legal feud with Universal Music Group. Talking about his situation with UMG, Drizzy reportedly mentioned in his chat:

"Me and Universal is like if Nike was funding a campaign about Lebron cheating on his wife...not Adidas or Reebok... Nike the company he been with since he started. My situation is not no street sh*t."

The example Drizzy mentioned in the alleged chat referred to his deal with UMG since 2022, reportedly worth more than $400 million. Comparing his situation to that of LeBron and Nike indicated that he didn't expect what he claims UMG plotted against him.

Furthermore, in the screenshot shared by Chris Blake Griffith, the rapper reportedly mentioned that artists signed to Universal Music Group before him were "too eccentric," so the company dubbed them crazy and didn't have to pay for their mistakes. The rapper added that he was going to change that and is aiming to build a safer place for every artist.

In November 2024, Drake filed two legal petitions against Universal Music Group over Kendrick Lamar's diss track Not Like Us. In the first legal petition filed in New York, the rapper accused UMG and Spotify of illegally elevating the streams of Lamar's tracks using biased recommendations, undisclosed payments, and bots.

In the second legal petition filed in Texas, Drizzy accused Universal Music Group of defamation. The rapper claimed that UMG was aware of Lamar's lyrics falsely accusing him of being a pedophile, among other claims, and still went ahead with releasing the track. In the second filing, Drake also accused the music company of funneling payments to iHeartRadio with respect to a pay-to-play promotional scheme.

In other news, during his livestream with Adin Ross for a Christmas giveaway, Drake said that his upcoming album with PARTYNEXTDOOR is one of the projects that he is most proud of in his life.
