A look at Ice Spice’s Y2K album following the release of her Funko Pop! collectible

The release of Ice Spice's Funko Pop! collectible is preceded by the release of her debut album, Y2K. The much-awaited album came out last Friday, July 26, under the 10K Projects and Capitol Records labels. It is her first full project after the debut extended play, 'Like..?'

The rapper first confirmed the Y2K album on January 31, 2024, when she told NBC that it would arrive in 2024. Appearing for an interview with Rolling Stone on July 25, 2024, Ice said she was born on New Year's Day in 2000 so her debut album is titled Y2K.

Sharing her thoughts about her debut album in the interview, Ice Spice commented:

“I was really born into chaos, and I feel like the album sounds very chaotic, in a good way.”

The rapper also shared a bit about how she creates her music as she added:

“I think I’m, like, 90 percent I’m going to do whatever I want, and then 10 percent I’ll give you something you want. But at the same time, I just really like making fun records because that’s what I like to hear most of the time.”

The Y2K album complements Ice's bold and fresh music while extending into the genres of drill and hip-hop. It was in the works for over a year and has been produced by the rapper's longtime friend and producer, RiotUSA.
