On July 26, 2024, Ariana Grande attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside her Wicked co-star, Cynthia Erivo. The co-star duo were seen in a signature pair of costumes coordinating their characters in the upcoming musical.

Ariana Grande wore a custom powder pink silk dress - with a bow on the waistline - and matching stilettos, both of which were by Thom Brown. Her look was accentuated by silk white gloves and a pink bow on her sleek ponytail.

Cynthia, for her part, was seen in a strapless emerald green gown with a corsetted bodice, matching flat-rimmed hat and stiletto pumps. She accessorized her outfit with some gold jewelry and her signature nail extensions.

The duo was also spotted sitting together in gymnastics qualifiers of the games, cheering Simone Biles on July 28.

Celebrities who joined Ariana Grande to watch the Olympic gymnastics qualifiers

For attending the gymnastic qualifiers of the Olympic Games on Sunday, July 28, Ariana Grande was seen in an outfit that exuded the retro vibes of Audrey Hepburn. She was spotted in a belted white midi dress paired with oversized, round, white-rimmed sunglasses and a wicker handbag with leather brown detailing.

Ari was joined in the audience by her brother, Frankie Grande, on one side, and Erivo on the other. Her co-star appeared in a menswear look with a mint green shirt with vertical stripes, an emerald green tie with stripes and a matching sweater draped on her shoulders. Her shirt was tucked into a flared black short shirt, with dark, knee-high socks and white, sneaker-style heels.

Among the other celebrities who joined the duo in the audience to watch Simone Biles perform at the Artistic Women's Gymnastics qualification was Tom Cruise, who was surprised as the Mission: Impossible theme song played in the Arena.

Snoop Dogg, who carried the torch in the opening ceremony of the Games, was also spotted in the qualifiers in his NBC hoodie. The rapper is also covering the games as a special correspondent from NBC this year.

Lady Gaga, who had also performed at the games' opening ceremony, was in the audience on Sunday. She was in a sleek ponytail and dark blue zipped hoodie with USA printed on the front.

Other singers who attended the qualifiers included Nick Jonas, who appeared alone, and John Legend, who was accompanied by his wife Chrissy Teigen and their children.

The Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain was also in the audience, accompanied by her two children, in a white knitted pullover with the American flag and the Olympic symbol drawn over it. Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, was also spotted in the crowd of audience.

Ariana Grande talked to Vogue in Olympic's opening ceremony

Talking to Vogue at the opening ceremony of the games, Ariana Grande revealed how attending the Olympics was on her bucket list, confessing how she loved to watch the games together at home with her family and keep up with the performances. The singer-songwriter said:

"I am so very excited about the women's gymnastics, and to be attending! It feels so special and once in a lifetime to be here!"

When she was asked about her favorite part of the opening night's ceremony, she mentioned names of Celine Dion and Lady Gaga, adding that the "inclusion of drag artists and celebration of queer people" was also very special to watch.

Talking about her upcoming movie, Wicked, the Positions singer admitted how she's "really grateful" to be a part of it:

"We both gave this everything we had in us; so, now, it's just about finally getting to step back, hold hands, take a deep breath and share it with people.
"Some have loved it for years and years, the way we both have, and some who know nothing about it yet, and get to experience this beautiful story for the first time through us."

The Ariana Grande-starrer musical was completed earlier in 2024, with its official trailer being released in May. The movie - the first part of a duology - is set to release on November 22, 2024, around Thanksgiving, while the second installation is slated for November 2025.
