As reported by the BBC regarding Liam Payne's death, Buenos Aires police initially responded to reports of "an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol."

When officers arrived at the hotel, they were informed that a loud sound was heard in an interior courtyard, where they later discovered Liam's body. A police investigation has been launched into the former One Direction member's demise.

Alberto Crescenti, emergency medical services director, informed the local media that Liam Payne had suffered "serious injuries" and that an autopsy would be executed. Crescenti declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding Payne's fall from the balcony.
