Today, Trae Tha Truth hinted at, close friend and frequent collaborator, J. Cole seemingly gearing up for the official rollout of his highly anticipated seventh studio album The Fall Off.
Truth's recent appearance on The Breakfast Club has gone viral across social media platforms, with clips from the interview being shared by fans online. During one of the clips, the rapper confirms that J. Cole's album is potentially complete and is "coming soon".
“His album coming. And when it [does], it’s probably gonna shock alot of people. So remember what I tell y’all, a lot of people form opinions and they don’t fully know the situation." - Trae The Truth stated.
The hip-hop community and fans were quick to respond to reposts of the viral clip from news media outlets like NFR Podcast, with most responses seemingly revolving around Cole's involvement in the 2024 rap beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
"There’s nothing he can say to justify how he got on his hands and knees for Kendrick" - A user stated.
"There’s nothing cole can do that can shock anybody that much at this point … never seen someone dip in between hip hop beefs all my life" - Added another.
"The only thing shocking he can do is reignite the beef with Kendrick or turn on Drake. But turning on Drake lowkey wouldn’t be that shocking if we being honest." - A netizen stated.
"Nothing Cole can do to shock us atp. Even if he dissed Drake I mean Drake already lost so that’s doing much. So much time has passed idc to hear him rap an explanation of why he apologized. I’m sure he’ll be spitting but the hype isn’t where it was when FPS came out" - Stated another.
Fans and critics were also found highlighting their high expectations for The Fall Off, with one user even citing that the internet would "write him off" if the project didn't perform well or "shock people" upon its release.
Similar reactions followed with people highlighting their thoughts and opinions over Jermaine's upcoming The Fall Off album, citing the various themes the LP could potentially delve into.
"He's gonna speak about how he felt during the beef. Will probably make public amends with Kendrick. May even throw a few jabs Drake, or play the fence and say that's still his friend. Then go back to making conscious raps and how he's living peaceful and above the industry." - Said one individual.
"I think J Cole is going to crash out on this album, in a good way. He’s going to remind people why he should be up there with the best of them. He’s going to address the apology better than he did on stage." - Another chimed in.
"He is going to go hard on this album because I feel like he has a lot of things to say" - Said another.
Everything we know about J. Cole's upcoming 'The Fall Off' album
Back in February 2023, J. Cole officially unveiled The Fall Off during one of his live concerts with Drake during their "It's All A Blur - Big As The What?" tour. This was confirmed once again during the rapper's appearance on Lil Yachty's A Safe Place podcast.
J. Cole explained that the title of the project came to him while dealing with mental health struggles and dark conversations with himself when he stated:
“I had a real talk with myself… You made it to where you wanted to make it to. Do you wanna keep going or do you just want to chill and go start a family? Do you want to retire right now?”
