In a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Budden addressed the situation between Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne as the former mentioned Wayne in his track Wacced Out Murals. In the podcast, Joe Budden said:

"I'm hearing that somebody picked up the phone, tried to call and see what their energy was. Hearing that Kendrick didn't answer."

Budden stated that after Lamar didn't pick up the alleged call, Lil Wayne apparently went to the booth to record a response to Lamar dissing him in his album GNX. He added:

"If I'm calling you rapper-to-rapper and you don't answer it's like when Mark Toe f*cking flipped when they had their s*it back. Now I'm going into booths. You have until I get in that booth to hit me back."

"Let’s not take kindness for weakness"- Lil Wayne allegedly responds to Kendrick Lamar's mention of him in GNX lyrics

In the track Wacced Out Murals from his recently dropped album GNX, Kendrick Lamar mentioned the Super Bowl controversy with Lil Wayne in the lyrics. The rapper's lyrics mention:

“Used to bump 'Tha Carter III,' I held my Rollie chain proud/ Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down,”

The controversy began after Lamar was announced as the headliner for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show which is being held in Lil Wayne's hometown New Orleans. Rappers like Cardi B expressed their discontent with Lamar being chosen as the headliner over Lil Wayne.

Additionally, in an Instagram post on September 13, 2024, Lil Wayne said that not being able to headline the Super Bowl "hurt a lot" and broke him. After Kendrick Lamar mentioned Lil Wayne in GNX, the latter took to X on November 23, 2024, and seemingly responded to Lamar. In his tweet, Lil Wayne said:

"Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love"

Lil Wayne is not the only artist who Lamar has referenced in his recent album. He also mentioned Nas and Snoop Dogg. Mentioning Snoop Dogg in Wacced Out Murals, he called him out for sharing Drake's Taylor Made Freestyle, Kendrick Lamar stated:

Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made,’ I prayed it was the edibles/I couldn’t believe it, it was only right for me to let it go.”

The Money Tree rapper mentioned Nas on the same track, stating that he was the only artist who congratulated him on the opportunity to headline the 2025 Super Bowl. Kendrick Lamar's lyrics stated:

“Won the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me/ All these n—-s agitated, I’m just glad they showin’ they faces.”

Kendrick Lamar dropped his album GNX on November 22, 2024, surprising everyone. The album comprises 12 tracks and is Lamar's sixth studio album since 2022's Mr Morale & The Big Steppers.
