Killer Mike's arrest at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards

On February 04, 2024, Killer Mike made headlines after taking home three Grammy's for "Best Rap Album," "Best Rap Song," and "Best Rap Performance" at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, which were being held at the Crypto.com Arena.

Shortly after accepting his awards, Killer Mike reportedly engaged in a physical scuffle with the arena's security, with Rolling Stones magazine citing the rapper had supposedly pushed at a female security guard after being stopped to check his ticket.

The female security guard fell and reportedly suffered minor injuries to her hands, which led to other security members immediately crowding around Mike and detaining the rapper before authorities arrived at the scene.

The Hollywood Reporter stated how Mike was escorted in handcuffs to an isolated security room within the Crypto.com Arena, which is supposedly situated near the VIP entrance.

The rapper was seemingly held for questioning for over 2 hours, with members from his team dispersing past 6:00 p.m., which was around the same time paparazzi had captured Killer Mike being escorted out through a side door in the arena.

Following his arrest, the rapper released a public statement that found him providing further insights into what transpired at the 2024 Grammy Awards when he stated:

"As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter. We experienced an overzealous security guard, but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing."

On July 02, 2024, The Guardian reported that officials had issued a public statement regarding Killer Mike's 2024 arrest, citing that the rapper will not face any charges over his alleged physical altercation at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
