American radio host Charlamagne Tha God recently made a statement on the latest episode of the Brilliant Idiots podcast. The conversation began with his co-host Andrew Schulz, stating that Kendrick Lamar won the rap battle with Drake and Charlamagne agreed, saying that Kendrick's been his favorite.
Schulz stated that in "terms of discussion, Drake is number one" and once the dust settles from the beef, everyone will be back to talking about how Drake is the biggest rapper. Commenting on the same, Charlamagne tha God stated,
"I don't know Kendrick dropping or not but Drake needs to go away. "I think that Drake should go away for, like, a year. And let nostalgia bring him back. Or maybe six months, just take a break"
He also said that people will miss Drake suggesting that the rapper needed to go on a hiatus for some time. Andrew Schulz agreed with his co-host and said he doesn't mind if Drake does a dance record like the one he's doing with Gordo, hinting at the newly released tracks Sideways and Healing.
"So thank you to Bardi for that" — Charlamagne tha God talks about Cardi B's surprise appearance at his daughter's birthday
In his recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on August 14, 2024, Charlamagne Tha God talked about Cardi B surprising his daughter on her 16th birthday. He called Cardi "the homie" and mentioned that he has been supporting her since the time she was just on Instagram making everyone laugh. Charlamagne shared that he rarely asks artists for anything, but since his daughter turned 16, all her friends have cool people showing up at their events.
Appreciating Cardi B's efforts, Charlamagne told the show,
“So I’m like, ‘Ay Bardi, would you do me this favor?’ And she was like, ‘Of course.’ So thank you to Bardi for that. My daughter and her friends loved it because nobody had any idea she was gonna show up.”
Charlamagne Tha God talked about how Cardi B danced with the friends of his daughter, sang along to her songs, and also clicked photos with the guests who asked. He commented on how the internet likes to say that he is biased toward Cardi B, to which he said "yes I am."
The radio host also posted the same on Instagram thanking Cardi B, and calling her "the good sister". Charlamagne mentioned that Cardi B was "one of the most genuine spirits ever" and that he truly appreciated her. In the caption of the post, Charlamagne mentioned,
"This moment is now a memory that will last forever in my daughter and all her friends hearts and I will forever be grateful to Bardi for making that happen. I Truly Thank GOD for it ALL!!!"
In the recent episode of Charlamagne Tha God's Brilliant Idiots podcast with Andrew Schulz, the radio host also mentioned that the track that Drake put out with Yatchy is "actually a good record". Andrew corrected him and stated that the record wasn't released and was leaked because the duo couldn't get the sample cleared.
The radio host mentioned that even tho the Supersoak track was played on Kai Cenat's stream, he couldn't see the excitement in the audience.
