Umbrella singer Rihanna recently extended her support to Kendrick Lamar after he revealed that he'll be performing at the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show via an Instagram post on September 8, 2024.
The Work singer liked Kendrick's reveal post, amid many showing discontent with Kendrick Lamar performing at the Super Bowl halftime.
Lil Wayne fans are upset over the fact that despite the Super Bowl taking place in the rapper's hometown, he wasn't invited to perform, which was suggested by American rapper Master P. Additionally, podcaster DJ Akademiks also criticized Kendrick performing at the Super Bowl half time.

Rihanna liking Kendrick's announcement amidst controversial opinions garnered a lot of attention from fans who took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their views on the same. One of the X users referred to Kendrick and Riri's 2017 track LOYALTY, and tweeted:

Hinting at working on the new album alongside her partner A$AP Rocky, Riri said that she and Rocky are trying to figure out who will use what, stating that's how good the material is.
She also talked about having a "lot of visual ideas" for new music in an interview with Interview Magazine dated April 9, 2024. She told the publication that it was weird having multiple visual ideas and that her brain was "working backward".
Talking about the process of releasing her new album, Rihanna stated:
"I usually have the music first, and the music leads me into all of these visual opportunities, and now I’m having all of these visuals, and I don’t have the songs for them yet, but maybe that’s the key, this time. Maybe the visual ideas are leading me to the songs that I need to make."
