On September 24, 2024, organizers of the Neon City Festival in Last Vegas shared an updated poster dropping Macklemore from their lineup. The organizers of the festival about to be held in November 2024 mentioned in the caption:

"Macklemore will no longer be performing due to unforeseen circumstances."

While the Neon City Festival organizers didn't mention a specific reason for dropping the rapper, fans speculate it is Macklemore's recent remark on America that might have caused his exit from the festival.

According to Variety, the Thrift Shop rapper performed at the Palestine Will Live Forever Festival in Seattle, Washington, on September 21, 2024. During the performance, he reportedly said "F*ck America." Videos of the rapper expressing negativity toward America went viral. Hence, fans believe that Macklemore was taken off the festival's lineup owing to his controversial opinion on America.

Macklemore mentions Kamala Harris in Hind's Hall 2

The sequel to Macklomore's Hind's Hall was released on September 21, 2024, featuring collaborations with Palestinian artists. Hind's Hall 2 comprises contributions from Gaza-born rapper MC Abdul, Palestinian-American singer Anees, and Palestinian-American author and comedian Amer Zahr.

Additionally, the track features choric vocals from Tiffany Wilson, Lifted! Youth Gospel Choir and the LA Palestinian Kids Choir. The Glorius rapper's latest track is the sequel to Hind's Hall, named after Columbia University's 'Hamilton's Hall.' The building was renamed Hind's Hall by pro-Palestine student activists in honor of Hind Rajab, who was a child killed in Gaza by Israeli forces in February 2024.

Moreover, the lyrics of the newly released track mention Kamala Harris and refer to the Uncommitted National Movement. This protest aims to pressure Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to achieve a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war and stop U.S. arms shipments to Israel.

Macklemore's lyrics state:

“Hey Kamala, I don’t know if you’re listening/ But stop sending money and weapons or you ain’t winning Michigan/We uncommitted, and hell no we ain’t switching positions.”

In support of Palestine, the White Walls rapper canceled his concert in Dubai, which was due October 4, 2024. In an Instagram post dated August 24, 2024, Macklemore mentioned that several people reached out to him asking him to cancel the show in solidarity with Sudan as the UAE was reportedly playing a role in the humanitarian crisis and genocide in the region.

Elaborating on the same, the rapper mentioned:

“It was important for me to learn and really get a grasp on the situation. I never want to make a decision out of fear but a measured one from the heart.”

He also stated that taking the money for the concert wouldn’t sit right with his spirit, adding that it would make him no different from the politicians he had been actively protesting against. Toward the end of his lengthy message highlighting the issues in Sudan, the rapper emphasized that, as always, his message was one of love.

In other news, Macklemore has announced that all proceeds from the Hind's Hall 2 track will go to The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The rapper has been actively supporting Palestine and has shared multiple posts across his social media accounts, raising awareness in support of the same.
